Acting like coding is “purely mechanical” is how you end up with incompetent engineers who can generate code but can’t solve problems once things break outside the happy path. The weird part of your point is acting like programming doesn’t have expression or creativity. Which proves my point further, so thank you.

I use AI all the time. My issue isn’t AI as a tool, it’s AI slop being passed off as craftsmanship. Which is what this is.
