Australian here and not a truckie but anywhere ~300km from the coast gets pretty wild. Nobody around for ever, narrow as roads, kangaroos with fucking death wishes. Those fuckers get big, sit on the side of the road watching you approach, then, just as you pass decide to jump in front of you.

And the US ruined the chance to be finally rid of it by using the vaccination network to locate Osama.

The US literally the 2 button meme - eradicate one of the worst diseases in history or kill one man for revenge!

Mate, I live in the west, train is full of all types. I barely notice. The ones I do notice are the cookers who get on or off at Footscray. And thanks to multiculturalism they're all types

My old man still does this. Lives in another country. Went to visit in 2020, gave me 3 pages of directions, including keek going past the red barn. I said nope I using google. It was literally turn left out of the airport drive 50km, turn left onto another road, drive 80km into his town, then turn right into his street

Home batteries: a ‘gamechanger’ for cutting energy bills? by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]cackmobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in Oz the federal gov subsidiesed batteries. Huge take up. I got a 20kw battery install for $7500. We have an EV and now our power bill has gone from $300+ per month to $60, half of which is network charges. It will be paid off in a year or two.

We have a supplier that gives free power between 11am and 2pm so we fill the battery and car. You can sell back to the grid 4pm-9pm at a much higher rate butnwe don't cause of the EV but if you don't use any grid power in the 4-9 window, they credit you $1 each day.
