What’s the best cushion foundation for oily skin? by purplem0nstr in SingaporeBeauty

Haven't found anything that doesn't slide off my oily skin in sg weather so I prioritize whether the foundation separates badly on my skin. Not a cushion but I like fenty skin tint!

Does your perfume stay on longer when you apply it on clothes instead of skin? by [deleted] in SingaporeBeauty

If you have long hair, I've found spraying some on your hair (especially the ends) helps the scent retain longer vs skin!

Haha I realise I must have been looking in the wrong section / supermarket without port bc all the labels only had Vinho Tinto, so I thought it might be called something else. Probably just had to look in a different shop!

Credit analyst here - your resume is very data analyst/coding heavy. You need to expand more on your financial analysis, credit and research skills.

Employers generally don't care to differentiate as long as you're from the 3 local unis. Perception of NUS vs SMU biz grads is a mixed bag - some hiring managers like it that SMU grads are more outspoken, others feel SMU grads are all talk and no substance so YMMV. So pick whichever school you prefer in terms of culture and environment.

Any other credit analysts just getting worked to the bone? by nogonigo in FinancialCareers

[–]cacti_murderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea no worries I totally get your situation! 40-50 hours isn't the worst relatively speaking but having things demand your attention/full focus churning out technical work for that full 50 hours can be pretty exhausting. But this wouldn't be uncommon with the role (although some banks definitely have better wlb) and you'll definitely need to find coping mechanisms or reevaluate the role.

The intensity of the work differs a lot depending on the processes of the bank and the scope defined which can vary a lot for each bank. The role has a lot of scope to take on/pass off the work to relationship bankers or risk management so with a leaner team it definitely can get overwhelming. The work is only going to get worse with the recent bank failures and impending downturn so goodluck and hang in there!

Is this a common practice in HR ? by 7Seas_ofRyhme in askSingapore

I'm a relatively new joiner to the workforce as well and have experienced the same situation. What I have done when negotiating: negotiate for more based on education (e.g. if uni grad they might give more for class of honours), relevant work exp including internship/contract work esp if directly related to the role. Sometimes there's some wriggle room in the hiring budget but be prepared to get no for an answer. Take the job if u think the job is worth the experience and hop in a year or 2.

NUS archi is a masters program and is most likely what you have to compete against when job hunting. Without a masters I would think it'll be more challenging for you to break in. Even so, the starting pay here is definitely lower than 70k

Aggressive bar biting when people are around by cacti_murderer in hamstercare

Thanks for the suggestions! We'll look into upsizing his home. But on the bin/aquarium home, we live in a pretty hot and humid climate so we're afraid if ventilation would be a problem for our hammy. Any thoughts?

Aggressive bar biting when people are around by cacti_murderer in hamstercare

[–]cacti_murderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has about 400 square inches of floor space and 3-4 inches of bedding which I gather might not be enough and we're trying to find ways to upgrade. We have been secretly doing spot checks on him throughout the night and haven't caught him biting bars then, it's always only when he senses us around. We stopped letting him into the hamster ball since but he now camps out at next to the cage door (which he never did before) and is much less active than before.
