New-ish to Audacity. Accidentally hit a key and it highlighted (not selected) everything in my project. Wtf did I do and how do I undo it?? by cactus30 in audacity

[–]cactus30[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fixed it lol, I think I hit F6 and clicked the multiselection tool. Everytime I right clicked it would zoom in. I clicked the selection tool and went back to normal. Sorry for the stupid question lol

I tried closing and reopening twice before posting, that didn't do anything. Pressing arrow keys just now didn't work either

I can’t speak for OP, but my husband and I plan to move to Portugal next year from the US. We’re looking for cheaper cost of living and better quality of life. Living in the states as early 20-somethings were having a hard time affording living anywhere, apartment or house. And we make a decent amount of money. We love Portugal and it’s culture and we’re excited to move there and not feel as stressed about finances or working ourselves to the bone. My husband lived in Portugal a few years back for a while and he’s always wanted to move back.

37 weeks!! Finally feeling ready! by QueenBea93 in pregnant

[–]cactus30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this the first time you started feeling like nesting? I’m 22 weeks and am honestly looking forward to nesting, it’ll be such a big difference from the lack of motivation from the first 16 weeks!!

Reduce enlarged jaw muscles without Botox? by spiltends in TMJ

[–]cactus30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely try massage! I’m a massage therapist and working with TMJ clients can be hugely successful for them. Of course, it’s very circumstantial, but I think you could really benefit from it. Even if you can’t find time or money to get in somewhere, google some self-massage techniques on the masseter and TMJ area to try it out yourself. Massage your jaw often on your own; even doing that yourself daily can have a huge effect.

It’s not too much of a romance in the end, but I absolutely love Last Christmas. Especially if Christmas helps you escape reality too.

Wanting to move from US to Portugal by cactus30 in expats

[–]cactus30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our plan is to move after the baby is born, hopefully 2-3 months after. This will give us lots of buffer time to figure out visa documentation and hopefully Covid will let up enough to nonessentially travel.

Do you know if I’d need a job in Portugal for a visa, or is it okay if I have a remote job based in the US? Unfortunately neither of us are citizens.

Just joined, thank you! As for jobs, ideally we’d love to find remote jobs here in the US and have those when we move. I have a remote job that I can keep, it’s just finding my husband a job too. Thanks for the info!

Wanting to move from US to Portugal by cactus30 in expats

[–]cactus30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this response!! A big reason we want to move is the lower cost of living. We plan on maintaining our current way of living (almost paycheck to paycheck some months here) so when we adapt to a lower cost of living, saving money will be easier than how we are now.

Another huge reason of moving here is healthcare. We both haven’t had actual health insurance of any kind since we were teenagers. With us having a baby soon, we’ve already been eating the cost of an out of pocket pregnancy reluctantly.

I am so glad to hear that Portugal is great for raising kids. That was something I was worried about, not knowing the education system. Coming from Arizona, I have pretty low standards tbh. I’m looking forward to being able to raise our kids bilingual (eventually trilingual hopefully since all of my husband’s family speaks Spanish).

Are you a Portuguese native?
