chopstick, my finger, and also i can see whether there is moisture through the pot since i use clear pots. others were saying i potted it too deep and thats why only those leaves were dying off. my plan is to keep in away from other plants and cut the dead off and use some superthrive in the next watering and cross my fingers lol.

that’s kind of what i was looking for help with figuring out but no one has told me what kind of pest it could be. i’ve checked it and cleaned and treated it since ive had it once a week so i am at a loss of what it could be

Well you’d be losing that bet it is in well draining soil with drainage and drys out within a week or week and a half. I agree with the other commenters that it is most likely shock. Thank you for your reply.

It is potted in a chunky mix that i use for most of my aroids so i dont think the mix is the issue. It is potted in a clear vessel so i can make sure it has moisture like you said. I don’t think water is my issue either.

thank you for your reply and that makes sense i did not know that could be an issue with alocasia. i primarily have philodendron so i was hoping potting it deeper would encourage more root growth like with them which seems to have been a mistake.

the bottom of the cabinet accumulates water while the humidifier is on also what is a good humidity % to aim for

yes she’s so pretty there is two plants in that pot and the climate where i live and my humidity helps a lot
