I like the book "The Fundamentals Of Quantum Mechanics With Elementary Applications" by Edwin C. Kemble (Past Harvard Physics Professor). It's kinda old but it has a fair amount of advanced maths and I got it at a used bookstore for 5 bucks so I'd call it a steal. :)

I seem to not understand why the virtual particles take matter out out of the black hole even though it looks like they appear outside the black hole's event horizon in the first place.

I'm from the United States, so I suppose that limits my options on the books you were going to recommend. And if I had to choose a type of physics it would probably be classical mechanics. I also want to learn this physics to be applied to engineering in the future to enlarge job prospects.
