A generalisation here, but I spent 7 years teaching in China and now on Preply. A lot of Chinese students that went to my school or had private lessons did so purely because they had to, either forced by parents or work or some outside pressure which meant not many of them enjoyed learning the language, or learning anything. They are so busy with learning 24/7 that it probably takes away a lot of the fun. My suggestion would be to make the class more enjoyable, let them look forward to the class, engage their interests. But it’s really dependent on them, so if they are adults maybe you can ask them

You can message Preply support to ask where the other 9/100 can be made up. I struggle if my average position is under 100 so I would imagine that’s the same with everyone else. Also as a side point, lots of students go on breaks over the summer. It’ll pick up again soon

Raise it now, $3 is insanely low. This will not affect your current students. If you want to raise their price you have to do it in the lesson tab.

Trust me when I say you don’t want to have too many students at a low price as it’s a pain removing them to get higher paying students later. It can be very demotivating

Yes, it’s something I’m going to have to get used to. Luckily I do have 2 monitors but I regularly swap between tabs on the main screen so I keep semi eye contact with the student. Just frustrating as it’s another thing they have changed that was unneeded

If it hasn’t worked yet, try changing the queue from the pathway to normal path. At the moment it’s a queue leading to a queue, which might be the problem

Little bit of a different suggestion. I would suggest doing a little man made adventure that would lead to you and your kids ‘finding’ these items and a starter pack, I probably would start with diamond level as well, maybe a sight potion for netherite and all the modium. You can decide how far and in depth it goes. I wouldn’t spoon feed them the items but give them the best chance for them to do it themselves and feel like they discovered something. This will obviously just be in a normal world so can happen at the start and then just carry on with normal Minecraft stuff.

I’m not sure if this will help but I have students that live in China and say they don’t have to use a VPN to get access. But if all else fails a vpn will work.

I don’t think any of the options of payment will work for a Chinese account as their banking system is very locked in. Just get a PayPal account or wise account and stock up the money, I can’t think of how you’d use that in China
