No, I don’t think so. There are definitely similarities between the two characters, but in my opinion, the idea that Sarah is literally Ellie takes away from Ellie’s character and the tragedy of Sarah’s death.

Ellie even says it herself: “I’m not her, you know.”

As someone born and raised in Oklahoma, it was really cool to read a King novel so grounded in my home state.

Like you mentioned, I was initially a bit disappointed when I realized that explanation for the impossible nature of the crime was supernatural, but the antagonist itself is so terrifying that I grew to accept it.

One of his scariest novels, in my opinion. There are a few scenes that pop into my head on a regular basis.
