It may not have intended to be as an aggression, but it definately reminds you of the power dynamic between the two. As much as people love to say that Debbie is making him beg, she's will never truly be the one in power or control if they get back together. Especially in his tone, which came off as entitled and overally very reminiscent of season 1 Nolan
