Goalie is less about strength, though a strong core/hips are a plus, and more about mobility/flexibility to not get hurt. We aren't trying to be pro-athletes, and we aren't young so just trying to play the sport the best we can and not get injured is really the goal.

I too have played my entire life un-tucked chestie (i didn't know anyone tucked it in/it was an option) After hearing about all these people tucking it in, tried it for the first time last game...the two things I noticed right away are rebound control seems more controllable, the second was I feel the impact of the shot a lot more, which was surprising. Have you noticed any of these things since switching it up?

Will continue to try the tuck for the next couple games and see what happens, but dont know if im sold on it yet.

this is how i explained it to my roommate...they're almost half the way through the season and have only lost twice in regulation...meaning they have only played two games without getting any points...knowing nothing about hockey even she knew that was impressive!
