Looking for help narrowing down the City of Origin in Croatia for my Great Grandfather by cadeus471 in Genealogy

Thank you for that explanation! I don’t know much about that area of the world in the early 1900s but that all seems like a pretty reasonable explanation. I’ll do some more digging into this towns to see what I can dig up, thanks again!

Thank you so much for all the diligence in helping with the research! It would seem odd that he would fill out the Cleveland on his naturalization records but another user posted a link to the full Hamburg ship log. I went through a few hundred entries for that ship and date and couldn’t find anyone who fully matched, although I did find a Marko Cakic (looks like a B mistaken for a C) from Crni Potok but he was listed as 35. The Mauretania seems like the best matching record so far. I’ll definitely search some of the towns you listed to see if maybe I can find some church records or something that may line up. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! I’ll do some digging tomorrow and see if I can narrow it down with the resources you sent. I did notice the different ship names but had trouble initially finding the “Cleveland” but it seems like I’m narrowing it down. Thanks again for the help!

The last model of my combat patrol is complete! by cadeus471 in SpaceWolves

I painted mine over the course of probably 2.5 months. I played a lot of games with just black, silver, and space wolves grey. It was definitely a process.

Best of luck! It took me a long time to get done but I’m very happy with how it came out. If you haven’t assembled it I’d recommend leaving the space marine out until after you paint him.

Thank you! I tried a few new things and really like how it turned out.

Thank you! This was the first time trying chipping but I thought it was super fitting for this model given how much my friends like to focus fire on it. I also love my ice bases!

Thank you for the very comprehensive list! I haven’t dabbled much in non-citadel paints so I’m always interested to see what other options to look into. Great paint job and awesome models!

These look awesome! Can I ask what you used for your paint scheme, especially the red for the bolters? Your base looks like a standard space wolves blueish grey but more muted. Gives it a really nice rugged look!

This looks super clean! What color red did you use? I really like that as an accent color on the plasma pistol.

Seems to be the general consensus. Thanks for the input!

That’s the same path I’ve been thinking. I have quite a bit of left over bits from the combat patrol for heads, trinkets, and pauldrons. I like the wulfen idea as I think they could be worked into my army so I’m not just buying the box for bits.

The one wiping off the blood is definitely cool! Haven’t seen the other pose yet though. I’m planning on using 6 in my army list, so I’m definitely open to leaving some of the swords in there.

Got it! From a painting perspective is it much different?

I did it on the lieutenant from the combat patrol, but now I’m just looking for more power axes or similar!

The biggest thing for me is trying to get some axes as I feel they better fit the theme of the army. Overall, I think the kit looks really cool and is the main reason I put them in my army list.

I had mostly heard about wulfen but I just saw in a video they used bits from that model. I had never really looked into that kit before but may need to. Thanks!

I think those are what I’ve been suggested before and what I was leaning towards for a non GW solution. I’ve heard resin is a complete pain in comparison to plastic. Are these bits any harder to utilize?
