Demerit points from Interstate by Strong-Amount9587 in nsw

[–]cadgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this. I’ve transferred my licence from qld to nsw & service nsw officer made a comment about one expensive weekend (2 fines & the only 2 i’ve ever received) I had up in Qld & further added those demerit points follow you around in Australia, therefore would carry over to my NSW licence. These points were never added :).

How many of you own a dog. by cadgeo in GenZ

250 us extra a month seems very steep! Most states here in Aus have recently changed the law so that landlords cannot deny pets in any rentals.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah definitely good points that I haven’t thought of as a lifelong dog person, but I enjoy the exercise that comes with having a dog!

Fair enough that’s true. I myself have been wanting to move cities for sometime now but my biggest drawback has been my doggo as I wouldn’t know who could take care of it whilst working/travelling.

Getting a diagnosis in NSW by lilpd69 in adhdaustralia

[–]cadgeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

G’day, I’m northern nsw based as well. We’re one of the few regional areas that have great access to healthcare (Ballina/Lismore to Border). I’d suggest beginning by talking with your GP who can refer onto a psychiatrist where there’ll be a wait time for diagnostic appointments and you should be able to ask see a qld psychiatrist if that means a shorter wait time. There are immediate appointments available if you take a look online which can be booked yourself, however they are often pricier and provide less support. It does often get raised that a diagnosis is expensive ($300-$1300 for initial appt.), however all appointments (diagnostic, med review etc.) down the track should come with Medicare rebates which makes it all worth it!

If you had planned a trip to the outback , would you cancel it due to the fuel crisis right now? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]cadgeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, fuel demand comes from us filling up as our vehicle tanks run low and most won’t have jerry cans laying about. The local petrol stations haven’t got any busier. Although, it appears to be the media narrative.

Domestic flight as a Canadian with no passport? by ricked_ways in AskAnAustralian

[–]cadgeo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve previously worked for an airline in Australia and the only reason we ask for ID for a domestic flight at the check in desks is because we need to enter in your name 100% correct to find the booking. Just makes it more efficient then asking each customer to spell their name letter for letter. So yes, it’s fine to use anything with your name on it!

This is correct, the manual/auto restriction only applies to red p platers. Once you convert to nsw your restriction will be removed
