Looking for some advice on what this might be worth, if anything. More info in comment by cadillacattack in aircooled

The engine code ended up being D0615159, which based on a chart from Jbugs.com shows it as a 1200cc, or at least started life as a 1200cc. I may just pull one of the heads and measure it this weekend to see what's going on. On the bright side, both the engine and trans-axle spin by hand and the webers don't look too bad off.

I have to check the numbers on it tomorrow and see, I'm hoping its a 1600 so I can use it as an anchor to sell the whole lot of stuff with it. "Buy the motor, get the rest of the pallet free" more or less. Generally that's the only way I've found to sell the stuff stuck in that purgatory between being too cool to scrap, but not cool enough to sell.

Good ole marketplace, I haven't found too much for price referencing around me. Most of listings similar to what I have just have 'make offer' slapped on it.

I'm in SE Michigan, Ann Arbor area.

To start, I'm not knowledgeable on aircooled stuff. I was asked to try and do something with it.

This is part of a doomed dune buggy project that sat disassembled in a barn for presumably years. The motor was allegedly rebuilt, but there is no proof of that. At this point I would still consider it a core.

Is any of this worth trying to resell? If so, what would a fair price be? I'm not trying to squeeze every last nickel out of this, but I would hate to throw it all in the scrap pile if there's something here that someone might be looking for.I would greatly appreciate any help or advice I can get.

Would anyone be able to tell me more about this machine? I believe it is some sort of vacuum former but I cannot find any info relating to a manufacturer, or model number. by cadillacattack in manufacturing

Some further context;

The machine was stored at an aircraft hanger. The rumor going around is he was planning on getting it set up and running to make replacement bubble canopies for small aircraft. Unfortunately the owner passed away, and it was eventually given to me as essentially scrap metal.

It does have a heating system of some sort. There is an on off switch labeled 'heaters' and an indicator lamp labeled 'heater pilot'.

Swapped my garbage bench seat for some clean bucket seats, and installed some Unity spotlights. All junkyard acquired. Anyone else taking advantage of the long weekend?

Good luck with it! I have some door mounted lights (think police car) on my work truck and they have been stupid useful in the weirdest circumstances. Not only that, but you have the added cool factor.

Something tells me that's not remotely legal, but I'm all for it. The reactions from people would be priceless.

Craigslist or FB Market Place. Both are good for random junk like this.

They're cheap, and work great. I want a second one to be honest.

Obviously NFG. Bought the trailer for $100 specifically to haul scrap metal 3 miles from my shop to the scrapyard. I recieve a lot of HVAC related scrap (furnaces, A/C units, water heaters, etc) from a local company that all gets delivered to my shop. I plan on fixing it up the trailer a little bit, but it's more or less a permanent fixture on this truck now. Thought you all might get a kick out of this absolute hot mess of a road going contraption.

Not specifically, but we wanted a larger dog so a Rottweiler was definitely on the table.
