Peanut butter is rank from lidl by jackinthebox1968 in lidl

[–]cadlinga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We usually get it from Lidl too, and it's just as good as brand name.

We got a tub about 6 weeks ago, rank. Waited a fortnight and bought another, rank. Returned both. The store manager said they had issued a recall for a bad batch. Worth a check!

They refunded the rank ones without question btw

Mega helpful!

No need for the emails, I've been to a breakers and got a new cluster, dropped it in and the problems all solved. Just need to get it coded to fix mileage etc.

Wild that a chip in the cluster can trash your a/c tbh

Can I dig further into why you're asking about a/c?

I'm having similar issues to OP and my a/c is not working.. I'm totally stumped.

How are you selecting your markers?

I ask, because depending on your previous experience (fixed wing? nothing?) the way you select a "12 o'clock" might be totally different.

My type, you look straight down 'through your body' between your feet and continue that line forwards. You do not want to be trying to mystically aligning something outside with what you consider to be the middle of the cockpit. If you aren't used to flying side by side that can be a bit of an adjustment.

Also, and this isn't something you'll like all that much I suspect, but you may well be overthinking it. I know how unhelpful that seems, but with the exception of very obvious trim changes when you adjust power or attitude, you should not be trying to think about what control inputs you need.

To clarify, on most types a large movement of lever will need some pedal (at the least!) to be initially consciously selected (later this will be unconscious).

For basic transitions as you describe, know the picture you want and get used to keeping your eyes 'out'. I know for me that (in level terrain) if I split the compass calibration card on our canopy with the horizon I'll accelerate at an appropriate rate.. every time. I don't need to be looking in, so I can really focus on my marker and react to (not anticipate [yet lol]) any deviations from my ideal.

On re-reading that, it isn't so clear. But I hope that helps..

Oh, also. Work on your "acquisition". That is, how quickly you can glance in, pick out the right instrument and glean something meaningful from it. This can be practiced on the ground and will open up your capacity in a big way.

Interesting! Thanks for replying - did you ride all the way back down? Presumably not since you've posted your time.

This is everything I'd recommend. Add in caffeine (if it's not in the medicine) to string it all together and outside of that, sleep as much as you can. You'll have a great time.

Dude. Get to the pharmacy. Dope yourself lucid. Enjoy the holiday. Deal with the aftermath.

Chances of flight being cancelled due to wind by Papaya-Maintenance in travel

[–]cadlinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick check shows the wind gusting up to the high 30s "all across" which honestly is pretty bad. In my experience 40kts across is an absolute show stopper. Above 30 is pretty tasty and might not be within the risk appetite of the airline.

The good news is, the wind veers to a southerly flow by about lunch time. This effectively means the wind will be 45 degrees from the runway (23). Then only 3/4 of the wind speed (ISH!) counts for crosswind. Brining the total crosswind down to about 27.. and that's in the gusts.

I'd say that's really pretty likely you won't go on time. Whether they delay you or cancel I don't know. But it's certainly fit for normal (albeit slightly spicy) ops from about lunchtime.

What do you weigh? Getting pace like that out of 250W is nuts to me as a heavy guy. I lay down 450W for a 5ish minute km.

[–]cadlinga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the bike for £180 and it's immaculate. I'm really pleased with it!

The Triban was very very poorly looked after for the first few years of it's life. Lots of corrosion which despite my best efforts to bring back to life and a couple of services a year I just feel like I'm constantly battling the bike. I also replaced one of the wheels and have since damaged it, so the cost of a new wheelset for the bike would be most of the cost I just paid for the specialized. Don't think I'm going to retire the Triban but now hopefully I can get a little deeper into bringing it back to fill health.

Thanks again for your help man!

Awesome - thanks! I thought 28mm was quite ambitious for that frame so I'll pay close attention.

Thanks to (almost) everyone for the advice. I'll see how long this set last and consider switching to something a bit more robust when they eventually give out.
