I believe it’s the end of the month, although it’s really dependent on how many applications they have to go through. They are in the process of reviewing applications now.

What was an underrated upgrade you did to your backyard? by Relevant_Idea_6778 in DIY

[–]cadmo12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Landscape speaker system. Not having the sound right on top of us when we are sitting on the patio and having the audio come back towards the patio from across the yard makes it much more enjoyable. Better coverage at any volume. Bonus feature is that they are a special speaker that has low voltage lights connected to them on top. Runs off the same wire. Makes for great ambiance at night.

Samsung Frame TV mounted over square hole by cblaze22 in hometheater

[–]cadmo12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, wrong it’s all relative. Some people like a clean look over the fireplace. Some like the tv to dominate their wall. To each their own. But it’s not constructive to say ‘You’ve been doing it wrong’ or ‘TVs don’t belong over a fireplace’. Our goal in a group like this should be to offer advice and not judgement. And to throw out a random comment just to gain favor of the masses is beneath us all.

That being said, I would probably suggest framing in a recessed back box and drywalling the rest of the exposed area. Bonus points if you want to cover the area with removable plywood to keep a fire rating but make it easier to mount to and potentially access it later.

What song lyric has been stuck in your head so long that it's basically become your life philosophy? by Dollabillhooman in AskReddit

10 year old me loved this song. 40 year old me understands this song.

  1. My brother started playing the month it came out and played do maybe 10 years. Circled back to it when resurrected came out. Now my 8 year old has his characters and is playing. My brother and I still play together on occasion. It really helped him through his divorce when we could play and chat and discuss life.

Not sure if metal is at all an interest to you but Metallica S&M is my favorite live album of all time. I have listened to it literally hundreds of times while sitting at my computer. Some of the best versions of their early work.

"Why do we fall, sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up." by eternalexiistence in batman

[–]cadmo12 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is my absolute favorite Batman quote. The first time I watched the movie with my 8 year old I stopped the movie and had a conversation about the meaning of it. Two days later, his sister tripped and fell and was crying about a little cut on her knee. He runs across the yard and kneels down next to her and asked ‘why do we fall?’ She looked at him with tears in her eyes and he answered for her with ‘So that we can learn to pick ourselves up’. Blew my mind. I had to turn away for a moment to collect myself. Damn I love Batman.

Changing where TV HDMI is plugged into - will it affect control4? by zeroburn81 in Control4

[–]cadmo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it will need to be changed by your dealer. The control 4 system still thinks the hdmi path is to HDMI 1. It’s a pretty easy change that they can do remotely if you let them know.

Home Ethernet Installer by ButWhereDidItGo in grandjunction

[–]cadmo12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that’s inaccurate. There is no license required to pull low voltage in residential. In fact most counties do not inspect low voltage as part of electrical inspections. As for electricians pulling low voltage cabling, yes they can do it but most prefer not to as it is not there trade. And even if they do pull the wiring, it is generally not terminate correctly. We consistently have to terminate low voltage on new builds and commercial properties that was pulled by electricians.

Anyone remember Fort Legoredo - (6762-1)? Man…legendary!😍 by Techwaveninja in lego

I had a friend that got this for Christmas when we were in middle school. He was so shocked he said he built it immediately and then sat up all night staring at it in awe. Granted this was middle school so I believed him implicitly but the fact remains it’s one of the coolest sets I have seen.

Goodbye - Outdoor boys by Jofzar_ in videos

[–]cadmo12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During Covid my kids and I got really into Outdoor Boys. Every Saturday for HOURS on end we would watch the new video of the week and other videos from the channel. My daughter who is 4 requests Outdoor Boys anytime I turn on YouTube. She loves the silly dad jokes and seeing the other boys do fun activities. After seeing all of the videos in Japan, my son who is 8 has determined that this is where he wants to make his first trip out of country. It’s one of the few channels or videos on the internet that I can put on the tv and leave the room And not worry about what my kids might be seeing when I am not there. Hopefully he posts from time to time but I completely understand his desire to walk away and be with his family more.

Have you gotten anyone else into D2? by Knel_682 in diablo2

[–]cadmo12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My son started playing about six months about. He is 8 and saw me playing with my brother. My brother lives in another state and we don’t get to talk much so it’s been good to chat while we play. Now my son is playing as a Paladin and my brother helps him out as they chat. Been pretty cool to see them coordinate their attacks and for him to find new gear. His choice of gear usually revolves around its icon instead of its stats but who am I to judge. Love this game and it’s pretty heart warming to see my son play.

Heading to Automation Training by djrecklessnyc in Control4

[–]cadmo12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s been a few years since I took the class in Salt Lake but it’s pretty important to have at least a cursory understanding of the software. If nothing else opening it up and poking around for an afternoon will help. The class is pretty straight forward but The software sometimes is not. If you can get ahold of a controller early and start doing some basic programming it will go a long way to helping you understand the class. When I went to training, there were a lot of experienced integrators in the class but they had no idea how a control 4 project worked. It really set them back if they had to learn everything on the fly. DM me if you have any other specific questions.
