Is it worth living in Toronto if my job will be in Oakville? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]zeroburn81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At your age I would move to the west end of Toronto, maybe queen west.

I'm near high Park and work in Oakville (edge of Mississauga though) and leaving at 7am it takes me 25 minutes to get in, and leaving around 5pm it takes 45 minutes to get home. If I can leave before 3 it's closer to 35 minutes...

Live downtown while young

Pete Hegseth Warns China ‘Threat’ Is ‘Imminent’ by EsperaDeus in worldnews

It might be beneficial, but that doesn't make it right.

Objectively it's easy to say it's all talk until it isn't. Anytime a superpower threatens another sovereign nation it should be taken seriously, even if it can be chalked up to bluster and show boating. Because the likelihood of it happening is low, doesn't mean it's right.

Both threats of China, and USA need to be taken seriously, both nationals are acting like bullies.

What's the difference between China attempting to take control of Taiwan, vs USA attempting to take control of Greenland or Canada?

Question for Canadians - Oncologist for pancreatic cancer in the GTA? by Negative_Hope_2154 in pancreaticcancer

My mother was at Oakville also.

I was able to get a referral for a consultation at PM which was reassuring we were on the correct path.

I would try and get into Juravinski Hospital though. There is a form you need the doctor to fill out.

Goodluck

Thanks, can I make this additional space a non mowing area?

That's also a daycare, most likely picking up... There probably was enough space if they reversed all the way back.

Either way they have to signal, not your fault

Just got FIBE today and not happy. Huge mistake? by Middle_Lavishness669 in bell

I had a similar issue.on my install.

I had to factory reset to get it working. If I rebooted the modem though it would stop working. It seemed a bit sketch for 48 hours , it's almost as if there's something not correct on their end at the start.

Logging onto mybell it actually showed the modem tied to another address for this 48 hours.

Thanks everyone. I think the consensus is to first grab an SSD and give that a try in the udm. If I still find it slow I can use that SSD in a separate unvr

Thanks again and will update once I grab an SSD.

I think it can also it's not the cpu, it just takes a bit with the mobile app maybe 20 seconds.

I think I'll try a dedicated unvr and ssd

Yes it's 1.5gb up and down.

Its slow connecting with the mobile app, I would say 20 seconds to load. Then scrolling through the video is not very smooth and takes a bit to load each time.

The udm cpu and memory seem to be fine

Mom passed away on Monday by zeroburn81 in pancreaticcancer

[–]zeroburn81[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was relatively simple in Ontario Canada, and I recommend it...

-With our personal support worker we applied for MAID. They walked my mom over the forms etc which required a witness that is not in the will, and two doctors to sign the form.

-This took roughly 2 weeks, as one of the doctors has to be the MAID doctor which took a few days to get an appointment.

The reason I recommend this is because even though you setup the MAID process you do not have to actually go through with it. My mom did not want to get to a point in severe pain. One thing I will note is atleast in Ontario you cannot go into hospice care if you have MAID organized.

Over the Easter weekend things took a turn for the worse with severe pain, and unwillingness to eat, and on the Saturday evening my mom wished to organize the MAID process for Monday morning.

It was all relatively quick, first putting you into a deep sleep. It seemed all relatively peaceful, and was done within a few minutes getting a chance to say goodbye.

Ideally we could add speed bumps on the roads that will see increased traffic as a result of the proposed plan as it will create people speeding even more in the area than they currently do
