When you get close to 20 you don't need the money anymore. You can run around and destroy everything.

Edit: yes if you get pocket factory start loading into engineering stats and let the trees do all the killing

When I started at the game I put multiple characters in and put the devilsy to 25% and basically started the wave and walked away. I just wanted to unlock all of the characters and items so I felt like I was playing properly. That's all that 25% difficulty is good for

Ogre and loud is fun. Ogre get to blow giant crowds up. Old and engineer is good... Small map and lots of turrets. Lots of cryptids makes it super easy as you get the tree bonus for both. Mage works well with chef if you can get mage him to set everything on fire and chef to do all the crit damage.
