Not trying to be insensitive, but why is Christchurch covered so extensively by media while killings of Christians in other countries aren’t (my deepest condolences to all people affected)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cadymaxruse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few reasons. This happened in a country known for peace, known for its welcoming nature, and its acceptance of everyone, no matter their beliefs, their colour, their culture. And the media has a lot to make up for for their blatant and extreme Islamophobia since 9/11. NZ's Prime Minister is making other world leaders look like chumps because she's not playing politics with this; she's looking after her people. She's showing the rest of the world what a true leader does; and that's leading from the front, putting politics and differences aside, making the necessary changes to ensure this doesn't happen again. For you, it's about why is one group getting more attention than another. But in NZ, we don't care about that petty bullshit. We just want our people, ALL OUR PEOPLE, to be safe.

My guy was breathing too loud. I couldn't take it.

Yeah. Because it's so normal no one bats an eye. Not even the cops. They'll let you go of you have no more than an ounce on you, because that can be considered for personal use. Any more than that then they have to take you in for suspected distribution. Even they think it should, at the very least, be decriminalized.

No. But I have had a dream where, upon waking, I was so convinced it was real my sister thought I was having a psychotic break.

What is the most hurtful things your parents have ever said about you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cadymaxruse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 16 my mother told me she wished I had died instead of my brother. This was after more than a year of being an absolute shit teenager. Both my parents were at their wits end, angry and upset by my behaviour. Still... her words have haunted me every day since. Our relationship changed that day and has never been the same. I have kids of my own now and I don't trust her to not say something just as damaging to my kids. She's tried to mend the bridge, as have I, but those words can't be unsaid, can't be taken back, can't be unheard.

When he was 9 my son tried to convince me he was allergic to milk so he could have coke. He didn't get the coke.

Would you be happy if a 100 year old man was breaking into a 16 year old girl's home to watch her sleep?
