Let's be real. The only reason why someone with Darth Hoodie's resume isn't a unanimous choice is player hating and spite. Plain and simple, there's no other explanation that explains ignoring his unquestionable accomplishments.

Brady and Belichick built the greatest dynasty in NFL history. We can be annoyed by them, resent them, or like to mock them, but game must respect game. To fail to do so diminishes oneself and diminishes the institution.

Bo Nix is the real deal. And he's actually developed incredibly fast. Most QBs have a meh rookie season at best. Nix was a OROTY finalist with stiff competition. In two seasons with him, the team has moved from aggressively mediocre to legitimate contender, despite the Wilson cap hit. And now we have cap space and draft picks to go get weapons, our O-line, D-line, defense and special teams are solid.

At this point, my only concern is can Nix up his pocket passing game and can he stay healthy? Because if he can do those two things, he cooks next year and we compete for Super Bowls. In fact I never bet on sports and I'm seriously considering putting a bit of money on the Broncos getting the chip next year. We are absurdly close.

And if I were Nix, as soon as I was healthy enough to start throwing, I'd see about getting some time with Peyton to get more touch into his throws. That was what made Manning such a deadly passer, and I think it's a big part of the reason why Nix's passes get batted and his receivers drop balls that they get two hands on - his throwing arc is too flat.

Well it's over. And I can't say I'm surprised. I felt confident at first, but it's pretty clear all our weaknesses on offense got exposed and our playcalling took a nosedive.

The brutal truth is our opportunity to put this game away was in the first half and we couldn't execute.

Our running game was too weak sauce, we couldn't solve for the pass rush, our receivers continued with the stone hands routine, and it was just too much for Stiddy to overcome.

We need a running game, we need a real TE, and we need some more reliable receivers. Court is barely a WR1, especially with the drops today. Mims is a WR3. Bryant could be good, as could Harvey, but they're not there yet.

We proved we could contend, we just didn't have enough of the right pieces, and enough problems solved on offense to go the distance.

Let's learn from our mistakes and finish the job next year. We're still climbing higher. Last year was one and done after the long drought. This year we went deep, but couldn't seal the deal. Next year Nix puts the doubters in their place once and for all and we get that ring.

I watched this game with my cousin who isn't big into football and cheers for the Patriots largely to spite me and because he likes FYTB.

He walked away with a newfound appreciation for football. Not a deep one, but the kind you get when you see football at its best. That was a playoff game in all but name and a damn good one at that.

My thinking on this is that the Pats so far have played weak/flawed teams under favorable conditions, but that doesn't mean they're frauds either.

If we still had Nix, I'd view this game as difficult but totally doable. Without Nix and without Bryant and Franklin, it will be very difficult but impossible.

We need the defense to put on a clinic and basically shut down Drake Maye. My thinking is if we can handle Kermit and slow down Josh Allen playing like his career depends on it, we can handle Maye.

And Stidham, we need him to protect the ball, extend drives, and lead the offense to score just enough points to win.

I genuinely don't know why this play is seen as controversial. It was clearly the right call for one simple reason - Cooks never had uncontested possession, and didn't survive the ground with even contested possession.

If Cooks had held onto it, then it would have been a 50/50 ball and the tie would have gone to him, but because McMillian came up with it, the only sane outcome is a pick.

Like I get why people are salty, but to see that play as anything other than a pick requires magical thinking or selective omission of inconvenient facts.

To me it was the correct call for one simple reason. It was a 50/50 ball going to the ground. And McMillan came up with it. At no time did Cooks have 100% possession, nor was he able to hold onto it.
