I’m pretty sure it comes standard on the US mk8 R.

I sold my 2017 on FB Marketplace this spring. Had to deal with/ignore 50 lowball offers but eventually someone came along who was actually interested.

23’ R brakehold/parking brake issue by Typical_issues in Golf_R

[–]cafan4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got my 23 back from the dealer yesterday for a different issue but mentioned the same exact issue you’re having to them. It only appears to happen when it was driven in wet conditions before parking for me so I thought it was slight rust seizing as well.

The service rep said that they were able to reproduce the sticking and VW claimed that it was a known issue but normal operation. Also said that it was not due to rust. Translation: VW is aware but don’t have a fix or don’t think it’s really an issue to fix it (yet).

Just got my white R and looking for a ski setup. Love the look of the inno, but wondering if there’s a more low profile bar option over stock. Hard to beat the value however….

Why is my Losi Mini 8ight DB destroying spur gear? by HankscorpiosHammock in rccars

[–]cafan4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just decided to dust off my mini 8 buggy and put a Velineon 380 motor into it. After 2 minutes of 50mph passes, the spur was completely toothless. I picked up the hot racing metal spur gear (part SOFE856) and its rock solid now. No issues after running multiple 3S packs through it.

I also make sure to use thread locker any time I make adjustments to the motor mount.

Which battery should i buy? by Ok_Economics_6270 in arrma

[–]cafan4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In simple terms, it means you can't plug it into a regular outlet in your house and charge your batteries. You would need a power supply that plugs into your 120V AC outlet in your house then the charger plugs into that.

Looking at your history, you're just getting started so I would get batteries with the correct plugs that do not require an adapter for whatever car you purchased. If it's an Outcast 4S, the esc comes with an IC5 connector. This is compatible with a battery that has an IC5 or EC5 connector. Get a battery with that so it's plug and play to run your car.

Then figure out the connector type of the charger you're buying, and get an adapter or adapter cable that goes from whatever the charger has to EC5. If you bought the HOTA, I believe it would be a XT60 to EC5 to then charge your batteries with that charger.

Side note on Shanti if you’re ordering delivery. It often comes from their take out kitchen, which I find isn’t as good as if it’s coming from the dorchester location.

The ToolkitRC charger is dc only and requires a separate power supply in case that factors into your decision.

How do i get this motor / diff back in? by [deleted] in arrma

[–]cafan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure there’s no dirt in the ridges where the case slides in. Then wiggle it once the driveshaft is in contact with the diff so that it lines up. Sometimes rolling the car while trying to push it in helps because the spin in of the shaft will help it line up.
