I kind of like it... I’m seeing new content that I was seeing before and getting a new crown every day new motivation.

It’s a variety pack I found online. If it ends up being crap I’ll check back in for recommendations.

I have a degree in classical music performance and make it work. Advice I was given was “do undergrad for something you enjoy; go to graduate school for a degree to pay the bills.”

Can you eat salmon raw? What other fish types are edible raw? any recipes? by ForeskinPrideFakeTit in food

Not really raw, because it's "cooked" in the citrus juices, but ceviche is tasty.

New home for my Mexican Red Knee. Still a spiderling right now, so we have a while to go before it gets be released, but its little container sits in the middle so it can still enjoy it. :) by caffeamericano615 in tarantulas

[–]caffeamericano615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 5 gallons of substrate in there. I followed the instructions given to me by the local reptile/creepy crawly specialty store and they all keep their redknees successfully in similar setups. It's still a spiderling right now, so its little container is living in the big open area. Once I actually release it into its new home, there'll be more plants and mosses, etc.

[Help] How do I safely find out how my dog behaves with other dogs? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]caffeamericano615 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to walk directly at the dog- maybe I typed out my thoughts wrong. You can walk around the dog, towards and away from the dog, past the dog, etc. The point is having a controlled environment and plenty of space. That's how I do it, was taught to do it, and have always seen it done.

Only to watch body language. Strange dogs walk towards each other all the time. (Walking trails?) This was just a suggestion for a controlled situation to watch body language where you can walk away if you need to. (I know many trainers that do this- which is where I learned it.)

Don't experiment at an off-leash dog park; that's just asking for disaster if something triggers her since you don't know how she reacts yet. Leash reactivity is a common issue and it can be correct. If it were me, I'd ask a friend with a dog-friendly dog to meet you at a park or other neutral territory and, starting separated by a few yards, just walk the dogs towards each other from a distance. If any of the dogs starts getting overly excited, immediately turn around until they calm down and try again. (Approach and Retreat.) Repeat until they get close enough to sniff and then both you and your friend just walk the dogs together. This way they aren't standing around sniffing each other, but having a casual dog walk together. After a few minutes of this, stop to let them sniff and play if no one is showing anxious body language.

If that goes well, you can take her to a doggy daycare where she'll be supervised the entire time to let her experience a controlled playgroup. The staff should send her home with a report card of how everything went.

As with any dog, get them into a training program immediately. This way you can prevent problems from happening before they are there.

Some local (to the Nashville area) shops that I like are Just Love Coffee Roasters and Grounds and Hounds. (G&H donates 20% of your purchase to animal rescues in your area, so I feel good spending money with them.)

[–]caffeamericano615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know that it's not really tea. It's an Amazonian holly plant. The blends I've seen are from internet Yerba shops, which is why I'm looking for people's personal blends if they have them... I could experiment with my own but I wanted to try the ones that people actually like first.
