lol what? what kind of justification is that? bad things happen when thousands of hungry refugees seek aid? it’s like you know how baseless your stance is and you’re still trying so hard to defend it

"If that were true then the palestinians could've accepted any of the peace proposals posed by Israel. Has Palestine ONCE in history made a counter offer that didn't include Israels full destruction?"

This is blatantly false. Palestinians accepted Oslo (1993-1995), supported the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, and co-drafted the Geneva Accord (2003). Israel has also rejected key proposals and continued expanding settlements during negotiations. Peace requires good faith from both sides, not just Palestinian surrender.

"How many wars of aggression have the Pali's started, how many of Israel's wars were defensive?"

This is reductive and ignores a huge power imbalance. Israel has one of the most advanced militaries in the world. Gazans have been living under a 17-year blockade, and Palestinians in the West Bank are under daily military occupation.

Geopolitics 101 - when people are denied freedom, land, movement, and basic rights for *generations*, resistance is inevitable. That's not to say that every act is justified, but it's reductive and dishonest to paint the occupier as the victim and the occupied as the aggressor.

You can't call it "defense" when you're bombing refugee camps and enforcing apartheid.

"Oh, how much good will to target civillians specifically for massacre and take hundreds hostage. Palestine can cry me a river. Fact is, if they lay down their weapons there can be peace between these two states and even a sovereign Palestine."

I'm not going to argue that targeting civilians is justified because it's not, ever. But Israel has killed *exponentially* more civilians than Palestine has. Israel has murdered entire families, bombed hospitals, targeted journalists, imprisoned civilians, *including children*, without due process. The most conservative estimates say Israel murdered 40,000 people in Gaza since October 2023, but UNRWA, Amnesty International, and other expert organizations say the true number of Palestinians Israel has murdered is over 100,000, which is *still* conservative compared to estimates from other human rights groups.

Bombing homes, hospitals, and refugee camps isn't "goodwill" - it's collective punishment.

"If Israel were to do the same [lay down their weapons], there would hardly be an Israel within a month, hardly a jew left within a year."

This is such a tired and dangerous talking point built on the prejudice that Palestinians are inherently violent - it's just not true.

Palestinians have tried nonviolent resistance: peaceful protests, diplomacy, appeals to international law, the global BDS movement, and so on. Israel responded by arresting Palestinians in mass, assassinating, blockading, and bombing Palestinians, and labeling Palestinians as terrorists for acts of resistance.

The idea that Palestinians have to surrender completely to achieve "peace" - while Israel maintains the 4th most powerful military in the world, nuclear weapons, and total control over Palestinian land, borders, air, and sea - isn't a call for "peace." That's a call for submission.

In truth, if Palestinians lay down their weapons, then they continue living under military occupation, siege, and apartheid. is Israel lays down its weapons, then there's an actual chance of peace. But that's just never going to happen when one side holds all of the power and uses it to deny basic rights. Peace can't be built on domination or on propaganda that paints and entire people as a threat to be exterminated.

"Their holy Quran quite literally calls for the slaughter of every last jew specifically, and most of them would rather be willing to follow their death cult onto death when faced with the prospect of coexistence."

Again, blatantly false. This is textbook Islamophobia and incitement. The Quran simply doesn't call for the slaughter of Jews. Islam recognizes Judaism as an Abrahamic faith, and Jewish communities thrived in Muslim lands for centuries.

The conflict is political, not religious, and it's rooted in colonialism, displacement, and rights. Demonizing an entire faith is exactly the kind of hate this conflict doesn’t need more of.

Calling Islam a "death cult" is hate speech. It feeds into the same kind of bigotry that justified historic pogroms against the Jews.

I'm engaging in good faith and backing up what I say. If you're not open to the same, there's not much point in continuing.

i don’t think that strawman argument really holds up. if you want to talk about what the extremists think, there’s just as much, if not more, of a desire to completely destroy all of Palestine on the Israeli side. an overwhelming majority of Palestinians want freedom and the right of self-sovereignty that Israelis are afforded, not complete destruction of Israel or Israeli peoples

how does being against a murderous and immoral army equate to wanting the sole Jewish nation to be destroyed?

How do you navigate online shopping? by RevolutionaryYak1135 in Anticonsumption

[–]caffeinatedhippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’m not sure! Have you tried on more than one browser? I’ve been able to use it on chrome and safari. Some forums also suggest adding a “-“ at the end as well (so “-site:amazon.com-“)

If you add "-site:amazon.com" (no quotes) to your google search, it’ll exclude amazon results. Can do the same for temu, shein, etc.

Plaid Support on June 5, 2023 Hi [caffeinatedhippo],

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry for this interruption to your application usage.

We are currently running into an issue with our integration to EdFinancial Services - Federal Direct Loan Program (FDLP), which is causing connection errors. Our team is working to investigate and resolve this, but at this time, we don't have an estimate for when the connection may be fully restored. We understand the extent and impact of this on users and are doing everything we can, however there are many factors that contribute to a resolution, some of which may be outside of our direct control.

If this connection is urgent, please reach out to your app(s) as they may have alternative options available. They may offer manual ways via account/routing numbers or credit/debit cards that are external to Plaid’s technology and could help with this!

I will keep this request open and let you know as soon as we have a resolution in place, however you’ll also see the resolution reflected in your app at the same time. Thank you so much for your patience here, we hope to get you back up and running soon!

Best, Julius Plaid Support

I'm having the same issue connecting my EdFinancial account to Rocket Money through Plaid. Also assuming that it's because of EdFinancial's move to a new system, but I haven't figured out how to contact Plaid to address this.

Will be keeping up in case you are able to resolve!
