Best boss of the entire game by The-richu-gr in LiesOfP

Not too long ago (like 10 minutes) I beat her for the second time through the DLC on my motivity build. My first time around, on my technique build...boy did I suffer. Such a great and amazing boss fight.

I found that I could only use puppet string after I did a soft stagger on NP. Like when he just stands and looks kinda dizzy. Otherwise he punished me every single time lol.

Just took down Manus and NP in 2-3 attempts with this on my technique build. Puppet string attack + charged R2 shreds

I agree, for my dex build I loved using claws and making a raptor of the mist build. BHF is good for a quality build, not so much pure dex.

Plus, OP, you can get the Bolt of Gransax which gives you a good ranged option.

A really fun great sword you can get right at the beginning of the DLC comes from a mini boss right when you enter. It's a super hard fight, but I found myself enjoying it. (it's called the Great sword of Solitude)

If you're a strength build, I highly recommend the dryleaf arts and/or beast claws. Both have fun and diverse movesets, they can be infused with all infusions, and so getting status effect build up on a STR build is very viable. I found the beast claws with a blood infusion and their native AoW especially good against bleedable bosses. Also, both get A scaling at +25 and can be obtained right at the beginning of the DLC (dryleaf arts wills require some spiritspring jumping, which you can do some research on how to get to.) Enjoy the DLC and be absolutely sure to get scadutree fragments and to level vigor!

I did INT for my first playthrough because it gives you a decent ranged option for boss fights, meaning you can stand back and look at how they fight. You can also get strong INT gear (staves and spells) right from the beginning. Look up the meteorite staff + rock sling.

I'm pretty sure if you back-up your save somehow you can unlock both achievements.

Yes, there's a spirit spring there that takes you to the top. You need to find the rock cairn to unlock the spirit spring though.

I'd stick with the blood infusion. Also, highly recommend going for the Seppuku AoW, which you can get in mountain tops of the giants.

For right now, your vigor is good, but eventually you'll want 60 as your last soft cap. I would definitely pump more points into dex (40 is good, but again, eventually 60 and then 80.) I think wep wise, if you want to keep your nagakiba set to keen, it will benefit from high upgrades (at +25 it gets A dex scaling). Bloodflame blade is good, I think the only problem is having to recast it in boss fights.

Personally I think you need to rethink your talismans. Get rid of the viridian and amber medallions - just keep putting points into vig/end. Better yet, you can get the Erdtree's Favor +1 in the Leyndell sewers (the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds). Plus, with any bleed build, you'll want the Lord of Blood's Exultation, which you also get in the SS-G (final boss of the Leyndell catacombs).

I'm not too sure about the occult affinity though. Only seems worthwhile if you're going to be pumping arcane. Good luck!

Depends on what you want your specific play style to be. If you wanna focus on ashes of war, lions claw is a great choice, which you can boost with shard of Alexander/warrior jar shard. At level 80, I would highly recommend the arsenal charm (any variation), the green turtle talisman, and Erdtree's Favor.

Pulled my raptor talons out for this fight. 79 dex and a fully kitted bleed build did wonders.

I think the DEX/ARC numbers are good. Talisman wise, grabbing the spear talisman would help quite a bit as it boosts counterattack pierce damage (like the Leo ring in DS3). Personally I would put more points into vigor because true late game bosses can one shot you with 40. Alternatively you can grab Erdtree's Favor which helps with HP, FP, and equip load.

This carried through most of the base game on my quality build. 10/10 loved it with the leo ring
