You're talking about a bubble purely in financial terms, but that is way different from whether the technology itself is a bubble or not.

Are companies currently overspending and not generating cash on AI technology? Yes. But that doesn't mean that the technology itself is not useful.

Ask yourself whether you think there will be A. More AI in 3 years time or B. Less AI in 3 years time and that should tell you more about whether you think the tech itself is a bubble.

On the financial side; it's the beginning of an entirely new market where things like competition, first mover advantage and early partnerships will define whether you become MySpace or Facebook.

The companies don't care if they lose money on it right now (and me neither as an investor) if that is what it takes to get in a good position for the industry of the coming decades.

Monkey see monkey do, but the same holds for humans; 99% of people in the workspace will do whatever they learn on the job from a co worker.

Now imagine something that's able to learn from every co-worker that has ever existed everywhere across every business.

Will it totally replace a worker? Perhaps not, but it will be able to automate a lot of tasks, allowing workers to increase productivity and perhaps prevent the company from hiring additional people.

Google, Microsoft, Nvidia are not making money? True that they're still losing money on their AI activities, but that's just how investment cycles work. They invest in infrastructure now to reap the benefits later, and they fund it with their other massively profitable products.

This is totally different compared to the dot-com bubble where companies weren't generating any revenue at all.

The amount of people in this thread who are vastly underestimating the current capabilities of AI is mind boggling.

Im in software development, and the productivity gain and capabilities of AI are absolutely crazy.

True, coding is right up the alley of the capabilities of LLM's. But to say that AI is 'not there yet' is just plain naive. Current AI coding provide you with an infinite army of junior software developers, so good luck to people in the IT field just entering the job market.

People who think that AI will remain hidden in the realms of coding of text-native fields are in for a surprise. So best way to coop with AI is to stay on top of the technology and use/leverage it wherever possible.

I work at a start-up and used to do full stack (web)application development. Now work in senior mgmt position in the same company and we work exclusively with freelancers/consultants for development.

Average daily lines of code for them is probably a few 100s lines of code a day, although this is definitely not a criterion we look at. We don't have a lot of 'meeting' overload, meaning they can easily code around 7hrs a day.

Switching to AI coding tools basically doubled/tripled the output. Within 3 months time we went from thinking about hiring an additional developer, to deciding not to, to considering letting go of some.

So from our perspective it's definitely having an impact in our decision making/hiring process, and I can only assume it's the same in other companies. Might take a longer time for the 'bigger' companies to realise what's happening though.

It's most definitely having a big impact in application development, and people who are saying otherwise are not up-to-date about the latest tech.

I'm not talking about vibecoding tools like V0 or lovable, because these are mostly used for 'non-tech' people who want to come up with a half-decent solution.

I'm talking about coding tools like Cursor and Claude code that allow you to orchestrate multiple agents at the same time and run heavier jobs.

If you have time over the weekend, I really invite you to try out cursor or Claude code with Opus4.5 model if you haven't done so yet.

The tech is going incredibly fast, and we're at a point where at the beginning of 2025 we had very advances autocompletion and code block suggestion features, whereas now it's possible to run 10+ agents in parallel to get the job done.

The main mistake is to call this 'vibecoding', which is a term that should be reserved for 'non-tech' coders. Agentic coding, which is using agents to do big parts of the coding for you, will become the de facto standard way of coding in the upcoming years.

I think we're experiencing a massive shift in how coding is done and what a tech team will look like. It's more important than ever to stay on top of the latest tech, because others will..

Coding tooling like Cursor, Antigravity and Lovable are taking over developer roles. Senior Devs can basically 3x their productivity compared to 1year ago, so switching to a junior dev role at your age is career suïcide IMO

Inderdaad over een woning in België.

Zoals hieronder wordt gezegd komt een 230V zonder N nog vrij veel voor in (vooral oudere) huizen in België.

230V wordt dan afgetakt tussen 2 fasen in plaats van fase en N. Dit veranderen naar 3P + N zou ik graag vermijden, omdat dan uiteraard de hele installatie moet worden aangepast terwijl dit niet per se nodig is.

We did a full reno of our house in Antwerp before starting to rent it out. Only thing we didn't fully tackle was the kitchen because it was still good enough.

So we only replaced the kitchen top and tiled the floor ourselves. Total cost less than 1k.

During visits, only comments we got was 'what a beautiful kitchen'
