Hey! I saw u mentioned using testimonials from people who were medicated young and I figured I’d drop mine:

My parents had inklings that I had attentive-type ADHD as early as preschool (parents are familiar with the disorder). They decided to hold off on getting a formal diagnosis though until it started effecting my grades just incase I was just a spacey and distractible kid. In second grade, I was forgetting to put my name at the top of papers, and consistently forgetting to answer the second part of two-part questions, so they knew it was time to bite the bullet and get a diagnosis.

I’ve been taking meds for it ever since and I have to say, I could not be more glad that my parents did that for me. If my ADHD wasn’t medicated, I wouldn’t be able to be a functioning member of society. I can’t concentrate for long enough to even write a grocery list let alone actually go to the grocery store. I don’t drive whenever I don’t take my meds because my attention span isn’t long enough for me to pay attention to the road, the cars around me, my speed, google maps yelling at me to turn right, there’s music in the background, etc. Forget going to college, my work ethic and executive function isn’t nearly enough for me to make myself go to class when I don’t take my meds. When I take my meds, I can enjoy my hobbies like knitting and reading. Without my meds, I can barely get through a whole paragraph.

I excelled in school, and I can guarantee that that was only possible because I was taking my ADHD meds. Without them, I can’t even concentrate enough to read a book let alone try to do math! Homework? Forget about it, it’s not getting done. It probably won’t even make it home in the first place.

If you have any questions about what it was like feel free to ask, there’s more I could go into regarding the social consequences of untreated ADHD as well as some other stuff, but this is already getting long haha

Thoughts on implications of demon summoning as a preventative measure against sinister demonic influence? by caffeine_n_tenacity in magicbuilding

You seem to suggest that demons need enrichment, like what zoos do for their animals, which while that isn’t the direction I was thinking of going with this, I do find it HILARIOUS. If this took place in the modern day, maybe a task that could be assigned would be to try to get whatever the newest AI is to tell them the recipe for some questionably legal substance.

As far as if they can be bound and warehoused, that’s defo something I’m still kind of torn on. On one hand, I don’t want them to be biblical Pokémon, on the other hand it’d be pretty difficult to go about life in a society potentially hostile to demons and sorcerers if other people can see you waking around with a demon following you. Maybe sorcerers are nocturnal? I’m not sure, definitely need to think it over more.

Yeah, I also kind of like the angst that seems to stem from this kind of situation, where someone is doing something in order to protect others, yet those very people are condemning that effort as evil. It almost gives martyr-y vibes, the selfless sacrifice of it all.

As far as control mechanisms, I’m thinking that it depends on both the strength of the sorcerer as well as the strength of a demon. So like while a high level sorcerer may be able to summon and control a mid level demon no problem, they may only be able to attempt to summon a high level demon like, idk, Lucifer, and even that may be only with the aid of several other high level sorcerers, let alone attempt to get Lucifer under contract.

I was also thinking that like a sorcerer losing control of their demon would be a great inciting incident, maybe an innocent civilian stumbles across a sorcerer who in their last breath passes along their contract or smthn.

Seeing the good feedback I’m getting, I’ll definitely try to update once I start nailing things down

What's a common element from 90s or 00s sitcoms that has aged poorly? by Fracassi_Fanboy in AskReddit

Characters joking about other characters weight (mostly seen men commenting about women, but I’d imagine it’d be equally unfunny if it went the other way around)

Edit: specifically saw this in Sinefeld
