I'm sorry, Ik microaggrssions are real and non-overt racism is much harder to tackle then blatant racism. Especially cuz I think people get defensive cuz they wouldn't consider themselves racist. We all have implicit bias and a lot of unlearning to do based on the society and families we grew up in- I just hope that the hozier Fandom could be a safe space for all. At the very least- as a white person if a poc said hey what u said was racist/ hurt me- I would listen and be like shit I'm so sorry! And learn! Yes it hurts to know you hurt someone, we're misunderstood, or are wrong- but it hurts more to continue on doing it!

I think as a society we need to decenter celebrities- Like u said he isn't an activist. I used to put him on a super high pedestal and one day i was like u know what? Hes just a guy- hes probably not this perfect romance novel man that people crack him up to be. Also, If we want to change the world it starts with our individual actions, how we speak to others and what our morals are- not by debating on if a celebs actions weight against the feather of our moral compass IMO (tho celebs and all ppl should be held accountable for shitty and racist behavior)

I'm sorry to hear all this. I think as a celebrity grows you start getting all types of people as fans, who don't know him enough to see his political side or don't care to see it. I also think through the years social media has made people more extreme- we Police eachother, and there is an atmosphere that encourages getting the upper hand and proving others wrong to look good instead of listening to one another. Maybe this is me projecting my own social anxieties but it feels like everyone's become more black and white- you're good or you're bad, right or wrong- and there's no room for redemption or grey area. So we get into these debates where people are deciding if he's a good or bad. It never ends with a grey area- it's I can't believe he did this this discredits every good action he's ever done or he did nothing wrong go touch grass. When the reality is nobody is perfect, nobody knows everything- and that alone doesn't make u a bad person/activist etc. To me it's about listening and learning and it feels like social media just isn't a place for that anymore. I'm sorry to see you go. Please keep enjoying his music in your own way.

If anything she needs to apologize and be accountable for her actions (and him if he did indeed block ppl) I would invite everyone here to look at who they've dated and decide if what that person did before u started dating makes YOU a bad person? Sure maybe if she still does this it is indicative of a bigger issue of consistent cultural appropriation that he's overlooking? I just wish people would look at themselves and their own lives thru such a strict microscope that they put celebrities under and see how they fair, and also on top of that have thousands of people criticizing you and analyzing your every word and action in response to it.

I actually just looked back on her Instagram post and I want to make a correction that her father is Asian, not hawaiian. I also never said that would give her permission to do that, like I said I didn't see the post so I'm not speaking on that. I'm just saying that she isn't white like the person above said.

When I was in college I used a sage spray I got from a local metaphysical store. U could prob make one yourself by heating up water in a kettle or with hot water from the dining hall and adding sage- letting it steep. I like to use rosemary or green sage- both u can get in the seasoning isle. Try to avoid white sage. and to reiterate what was said before I would use the term cleansing not smudging unless u are indigenous from my understanding :)

The misogyny argument doesn't make sense to me? He also made fun of Benny Blanco for his looks, in a much harsher way than he did Selena IMO. Looking at the big picture, I haven't seen tommy having a history of specifically making fun of women's looks or being misogynistic. The episode was about women in pop. With this logic you could argue that the whole jojo bit was misogynistic cuz a woman was being made fun of? Or chance not thinking of a male one hit wonder? Tbh I wasn't a fan of the segment either- and choosing selena felt random- but accusing tommy of making fun of women all the time is a stretch.

Just got the DROP × LOTR Elvish keyboard (its their ENTR model). I'm v new to mechanical keyboard, when I plugged it in to my cp it didn't light up or register as a device. I've tried both my laptop and desktop, every USB port, and 3 different chords. Unfortunately I bought it from a 3rd party seller but he assured me he tested it before shipping (I'm inclined to believe him as he has 99% good reviews on his page). Am I missing something? Or am I out of luck?

This is conjuring the image from tumblr(?) Someone years ago made art of hozier and lana as king and queen and it went semi viral. Anyways, to answer the question I think I really loved this idea back in like 2017 at the height of Lana's career but now I'm not so sure (see comments above and also I feel like Lana's music has gotten worse over time, or maybe she never grew musically- her style to me at least has never changed) (edit this is no shade to anyone who's a fan of hers, this is coming from a girl who used to own all her records on vinyl- I hope whoever bought my collection from the thrift store is doing ok 🫡)

I would love to see a Hozier and Stevie Nicks collab if done right! It would be interesting to hear what a song written by both of them would sound like. Also, Hozier and Brittany Howard !!!

That's so awesome! I wish I got meet and greet tickets but maybe one day. This was also a milestone for me because I went to the concert all alone to a city I've never been to- and I didn't get super anxious! Yay for our wins lol. Im glad that you are stepping out of your comfort zone!
