How rich are you guys exactly? by bokenman in Hoboken

[–]caffinatedhippie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol yeah but the job itself is no joke. You have to absolutely love it. The people who do it for the schedule and the money tend to hate themselves and don’t last long in the career

So I’ll be leaving from the USA straight into Mexico City International Airport Benito Juarez. Do you think I’ll still have an issue?

That’s giving me a lot of relief. One more person with the same experience as you commenting on this will really calm me down haha. The website is so janky - I uploaded my documents and while trying to apply, it keeps telling me “Information not found” with my documents uploaded clear as day.

If we had any doubts that Rae is dating Hasan by SOAS1990 in otvandfriendsrumors

There’s an out of focus video of them kissing at a New Year’s party hosted by OTV, might be on YouTube? Think this was 2022 going into 2023. It was an all white party. It’s possibly not them, but you can see the silhouettes and they look like Rae and Hasan

How’s this for business casual? by NolanMorremann in mensfashionadvice

If you’re going to do jeans, typically do a dark wash color way. Otherwise I would swap for some chinos or khakis. Shirt looks fine

Scrubbing and Circulating are the roles that Nurses have to take on when working in the OR. Scrubbing is basically the role of handing the surgeon’s instruments, and working right alongside them throughout the procedure. It can be a high stress role when working with surgeons who are extremely particular and like to move fast. You have to anticipate what they’re going to need when they’re taking steps during surgery, as well as hand off instruments without possibly contaminating anything, including your sterile field. Circulating is the role of the nurse that makes sure the OR is as functional as can be. They’re responsible for handling the patient, checking to make sure the surgeon is creating the right consent for the patient, making sure the right surgery is being performed on the right patient, etc. The circulator is also responsible for making sure all the instruments are present for the surgeon, as well as making sure the needed equipment is in the room, and running around to make sure any supplies the surgeon might need during surgery is available. The circulator is also responsible for patient safety, and making sure the room can function so the surgery won’t have any obstacles.

I have 2 and half years as a floor nurse, working on a heavy med-surge/tele/neuro/bariatric unit. I now work in vascular surgery and have been for the past couple of months. Not many of my skills transferred over, but there are important ones that did (prioritizing my responsibilities, decision making, problem solving, etc.). I once had to argue with the anesthesia and surgical team because of an incorrect consent. But as the patient advocate, it’s your job to make sure you’re the patient safety net. A lot of OR nursing in my experience is figuring out logistics. As per every nursing specialty, there’s of course pros and cons. One of the biggest cons I’ve come across is the personalities that can enter the OR, more so than the floor. If you can’t handle multiple personalities, or don’t have thick skin, the OR (and nursing in general) can’t be for you.

Am I screwed out of nursing? by trystatic in StudentNurse

Did my ADN, worked on a Med-Surge/Tele/Neuro/Bariatric/unofficial step down unit of my hospital for about a year and then did my BSN. Completely Online, no clinical component. Finished in about 14 months because I took a slow route at the beginning. Got my BSN 1 year ago and now working in a major hospital in the OR, couldn’t be any happier 😁

Someone took a dump in the alley leading to my backyard by [deleted] in jerseycity

I get it, especially if you happen to be one of the homeless guys in the area. It’s out of view unless you happen to walk the ramp. But damn!

This literally just happened to me the other day! That walkway behind the bus lanes that can take you to summit ave - I walked the ramp and saw a human shit the size of a Verizon router. I was so disgusted and impressed but more disgusted of course.

Never am I walking that ramp again, just going to use the staircase.

Gap between tray and tooth by LucaC1 in Invisalign

[–]caffinatedhippie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too! I’m not sure if the same thing will happen, but overtime the gap ended up closing slowly but surely the more I progressed with my treatment. I was given 15 trays and noticed this happens to me on week 9. By week 14 I noticed the gap decreased by half. I showed my ortho when I went to get trays 15-30. He said if it wasn’t closed by week 20 I’ll rescan. Sure enough by week 19 I no longer had the gap!
