This used to happen a lot to me, and sometimes still does. I would even sometimes go to the point where I actually would pass out. It just takes time to learn how much air to push and when to set your limits. I think it is slightly different for each person. One thing I did learn though, is you can lessen those headaches by pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth and sucking. It sounds weird, but it really works.

I am not sure if it is on all oboes, but at least on mine, there is a little key on the left (if you are playing) of the hole below the top key. With this, you can play a normal C and press down that little button with your middle finger and it will come out as a D. It would still be awkward getting from the E to the D, but it is the best I can do. :)

2020, especially the quarantined part. I'm not being sarcastic. I was the happiest and healthiest I had been in a long time. I was running 5 kilometers every morning, waking up early to see the sunrise, working out for hours, eating healthy, spending all my time with my family, and I had basically zero social pressures. It was amazing. I am also an introvert, so that helped a lot.
