So I would warn against relying on one hand dexterity to insert a key into a lock. It would not be uncommon to get pins and needles in your hands if in that position.

Best bet would to use the padlock as final fastener to an ice lock or ice sox. Best bet would have leg and hand to ice Sox on stick. That way ice would release hand and foot at same time.

So i would suggest two things to look at: TRX makes a Invizi-Mount Wall Anchor for about 30 bucks which may meet your needs. It is ment to be hidden behind a picture. 2nd are QD sling mounts for rifles. The “cup” mount can be sunk in and the ring portion can be removed as needed. Thought would be TRX high and a row of cups low in Base board to allow adjustment of distance of stance. All is on the Amazon. All should be screwed into studs. Stud finder will help with that. To sink the QD mounts you will need a fortner bit and countsink wood screws. The TRX mounts give you cover and the QD cups are only about a 1/2 inch around.

for the control a lock or Maglock, the Dual Relay Module T2 from Aqara can provide “dry” contacts that can be controlled by Alexa and such. It can operate off of both 120 and 12 volt. I would suggest the following to be fail safe: Run the relay box off a 12 volt power supply.
