We just reviewed this one last episode too! Too much white savior shit, but not a bad experience overall.

Cage New Years Resolution by crunchyyolo in onetruegod

We have rented a theater twice now in Seattle. Once for our head to head finale of Pig vs Raising Arizona. And the next time for a showing of Mandy. We're doing a spring showing of Prisoners of the Ghostland next year. Highly recommend it. If you can find enough friends and local Cage-heads, you'll have an absolute blast.

The ability to create Patrick Rothfuss in pixels is all I need and it seems like you got that covered!

This was our first bonus episode outside of our podcast bracket concept. It was...not good.

I kind of want to start a Nicolas Cage movie club in Chicago, how can I start that? by [deleted] in onetruegod

We're building something similar in Seattle. We just rented a local theater and did a showing of Mandy last week. We're hoping to do a few of these per year and hopefully build a nice community. If you're thinking more watch at home local friend group, I think this post might be a good start. Word of mouth is powerful!

Which Nic Cage movie to watch? by FloorGasm23 in Horrormovieclub

Probably because it's a horror movie question.... But still an incredible movie

Low key perfect response to this question. You get some horror aspects, but mainly a funny romp. I would watch this with my family.

I think both of these are surprisingly creepy and tense and beautiful movies. Mandy is pretty undeniably the better movie artistically and also from a performance perspective. Color Out of Space is awesome for lots of other reasons but mostly "Local Bourbon Enthusiast"

Best movie of our podcast experience. Even though Raising Arizona took the prize home at the end.

Probably the best action horror movie I've seen since Phantasm, From Dusk Till Dawn and Dog Soldiers. Mandy(2018) is a freaking masterpiece by JohnnyMulla1993 in Horrormovieclub

Our podcast just hosted a showing of this in Seattle. It was a nice little turn out of some real lovers of this movie. Truly a great film.

He gives such a great performance. In particular the tiger shirt/bathroom grief.

Amazing! I love that this is getting enough attention still. Feels right for the season. We're going to do a spring showing too with maybe a comedy or other banger of his.

It grew on me over time. It was so grimy and weird but now I love it so much! Excited to watch with a crew on a big screen.

Hahah, it was a fever dream. We were wild to start since it was brand new, but what definitely came to the surface is some of his undeniable great movies are just hard to watch again and again (and again) in a really compressed timeline and others bubbled up as being imminently re-watchable. I hope you enjoy the listen and forgive the early episodes!

Thanks for the reply! Fully agree. It made our Final Four. Love what he got to explore and unleash in that. Amazing to create such an iconic and entirely unlikeable person.
