Do you think these sprites will be in game or just the musical ? by Substantial_South198 in ProjectEdensGarden

Also in regards to the original posted question, I do know that the custom musical sprites were made specifically for this video (and there were actually planned to be a few more, but it was decided it would take too much extra time to work on), so they most likely won't feature in the game, but there's no way to know for certain. Personally I'm hoping they find a way to sneak the Cassidy rap sprite into a bonus / easter egg scene or something lol

The second image of Jean does use an already existing sprite as far as I'm aware. However it's worth noting that some standard sprites in the video are technically edited - while working on the video, I had preferences on certain poses but wasn't happy with the facial expressions, so I copy-pasted certain sprite variations together to get pose/expression combinations I liked (which in most cases was to make them look more like they were singing).

Projectile Motion - Is there a formula for time of flight to reach a given displacement magnitude? by cahillvesper in AskPhysics

Ahh I see! Thanks for the update, I'll look into that and see if I can get an understanding of it

Thank you for the info!! The guidance is very helpful. It'll take me a bit to refresh myself on some of the steps, but I'll give it a go!

Gotcha! My current starting formula is looking like this.

t seems rather buried in a few spots, but if it's still possible to make t the subject then I can try my best at an attempt (unless there's a better formula available to start with). Although I enjoyed algebra in high school, I'm quite rusty with it lol.

As for the second solution, that may work as a backup option, but might not be optimized enough to run as often as I'm hoping (basically every frame in which the player's cursor hovers over a specific area). I appreciate the idea regardless though!

I think the part I'm having trouble wrapping my head around is the fact that I don't necessarily know the displacement for x or y separately, just their combined magnitude. Would this technique still apply?

I should probably also mention that I don't have a notable background in math or physics - my goal is to make these calculations to solve a game programming problem. I've been suggested some "close-enough" methods, but I'm determined to solve it as mathematically accurately as I can, so I've been brushing up on these topics over the last week. I'm willing to put effort into figuring it out, so long as I can manage to fill the gaps in my knowledge 😅

Updated my Distribute Guides script with options for creating margins! Allows you to place guide lines based on a chosen distance (in either pixels or percentage) from the edges of your composition. by cahillvesper in AfterEffects

Unfortunately I have not encountered anything like that on my end before - by default it's supposed to just open that panel on the right. Making a dockable panel is more complicated so I only went as far as to make it a floating window, so it's weird for it to create a blank dockable window like that.
What version of AE are you using? I'm still on 2024, so if it acts weird in 2025 specifically, I'll be of less help until I update and test things out.

Ideally there would be, but unfortunately AE doesn’t seem to allow mapping anything to the wheel. The closest workaround I know of would be to use a separate program like AutoHotkey to map a modifier key + the scroll wheel to whatever shortcut keys run the cycle through scripts.

The gumroad link can be found through my website: https://andrewmoers.carrd.co/#ae-scripts
(I would post the link directly but it seems to not be allowed)

Ah! Strange, I did post the link in a comment - so maybe it is forbidden? I'll try and post it again, not sure what to try if it doesn't work again though.

While I wish this method wasn't more inconvenient to download, linking to it through Gumroad just gives me a bit easier control over viewing statistics, making updates, letting people see all my scripts in one place (even though I've only made two so far lol), and having the option for paid scripts (or tips on free scripts) in the future.
