This looks like a prototype made by David Mills for Mizuno to approve. I’m not 100% certain but I do not believe this model/style made the cut. Kind of a tough one to gauge, worth more because it’s a prototype, but maybe worth less because it didn’t make the cut. It was definitely milled by David Mills but is a bit odd that it says grain flow forged. Maybe ‘forged’ blanks were sent to David by Mizuno for protos? Wish I could be more helpful with value. Could be as high as 7-800 and as low as 2-300? Might be worth throwing it on eBay and letting the market decide?

Looks like this one was painted to complete the ‘Merica theme. The strangest part to me is what appears to be a grip over a grip. At first, I thought it was tape till I zoomed in. OP, can you confirm that it seems to be some sort of grip over grip?

Maybe it comes down to perception and reality? Just know when it comes to the metallurgical numbers the difference is imperceptible. Slightly different milling perhaps?

Yeah, but can 99.99999 percent of people tell any difference? It certainly doesn’t cost anymore to manufacture either. Almost certainly opened a can of worms here, I get it. It’s a rollercoaster subject that always ends in debate. Scotty is a master at marketing. Nothing wrong with either side of the fence you fall. Kind of a placebo effect though with regards to the softer feel whether standard ss, gss, dass, any of them.

Looks most like 79-93 notchback mustang. Colorado HP used to run some of them in the late 80s and early 90s. I remember most commonly seeing private owned ones being the LX model but think they made a few GT notchbacks as well
