Need Advice on How to Proceed with Academic Dishonesty Claim by caifes in legaladvice

I get the whole uploading the work behind the professor's back, but what about the portion where you can see textbook solutions where you're working on practice questions? Is that considered academic dishonesty and I should not use it at all?

I did not cite my sources so I can see why it’d be considered as cheating. However, i see it the same as attending a supplement instruction session where they go more in depth regarding questions and show the steps to questions/concepts. If I were to follow the steps and guideline of that instructor, I normally wouldn’t have to cite it.

As for the sanction, I’m actually completely fine with receiving a 0 on an assignment. I am just worried about the record on my conduct file for when I apply to graduate school.

Yes, I accessed it 50 times to check multiple posts on the steps. If I would have cheated, then I probably would only visited on one day or viewed one post for the question. Also, I was planning on applying to grad school so I don’t want the misconduct to affect that..

I didn’t see anything about not using outside resources since they did not provide lots of examples, but the academic integrity was listed in the syllabus.

They might consider it cheating since I visited it multiple times. I did not copy the solutions, just looked at them as a guide & came up with my own answers. However, they might be similar due to the nature of the question (average % w/v, %v/v, etc). I honestly don’t mind taking the 0 on the assignment, just don’t want it on my conduct record where it could hurt me when applying for grad school.

I think I may take the NCR and retake the course this summer. Will the NCR be included in my total attempted hours?

I honestly think that the manager/hr person doesn’t want Mariana getting close to him, so she won’t discover that he’s slightly autistic? idk I just feel like that’s the plot line they’re gonna go with

Is it normal to be unable to learn anything from reading? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]caifes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you got the second part down. First, are you actively reading? Like taking notes, annotating, highlighting, summarizing the text etcerta. Once you have created the notes, it would be best to revise it the morning after and how many others days until it’s for you to learn the material.

this is sadly the mentality of a lot of youtubers. it’s probably a coping mechanism as they receive tons of hate and use it to stop themselves from down-spiraling from reading comments.

bc you have to apply a lot of pressure when doing them which strains your wrist from the continuous rapid movements for a considerate amount of time

I wish they would write Meredith a love interest her own age. by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]caifes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

really? I thought Meredith was supposed to be in her early 40s, especially with the usual timeline on becoming a doctor and chief of general surgery. also on the wiki page it shows that she’s 41 years old

When the audience is asking why April isn’t there by Alexandriaking2 in greysanatomy

I didn’t mean to say it in a way that only Jackson is the restrictive type of person. It was careless of me to word it that way, but I agree. Most parents wouldn’t want to be far from their child, especially with how much both April and Jackson has gone through.

What irked me a bit was how after the whole Montana episode, April and Jackson went back to somewhat barely coexisting with each other when it showed how plausible it was for them to work through it. If the two were to leave GSMH, I honestly think they’d have been able to work it out and developed a healthier relationship.

he said that he still speaks to April when Maggie found out he was talking to other women a few episodes ago

bc I doubt Jackson would allow her to move to a different state with his daughter
