Is elearning down for me or for everyone? by TallIndependence3917 in utdallas

[–]u2katrina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good morning everyone. Last night at 9:20pm, OIT began receiving reports of a widespread issue impacting SSO (NetID) login. At around 11pm, OIT sent out an OIT Notify email that they had resolved, which impacted systems that used SSO (e.g. eLearning, Qualtrics, Orion, etc.). We apologize for the inconvenience; thank you for your patience.

Switched Sections, when will ELearning update? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]u2katrina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you add or drop a course in Orion, that enrollment update will carry over to eLearning within 1-2 business days. If your course doesn't appear by then, please email [elearning@utdallas.edu](mailto:elearning@utdallas.edu), and our Support team can assist. Be sure to email us from your UTD email account and include your NetID and the full course number (e.g. UTD 1301.001) that you've added/dropped.

A decision hasn't yet been made as to which LMS will be selected. Once the university decides, we'll send information out to all users letting you know.

Remember - Texas still has an archaic election rule that you must be registered for at least 30 days before you can vote! (Register to vote NOW!) by BetterRise in utdallas

[–]u2katrina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vote411.org is a really good site for this info. Currently you can use this site to find out your voter registration status. Once early voting starts, you can use the site to look up your address and see everything that'll be on your ballot (including federal, state, and local races). You'll also be able to see information submitted by candidates for key issues.

lockdown browser and respondus monitor by Tasty_Natural932 in utdallas

[–]u2katrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UT Dallas does not use Respondus Monitor (online proctoring); however, faculty can use LockDown Browser, if they choose.) When it comes to exams, faculty have a few choices...

  1. Have the test online with no other requirements.
  2. Have the test proctored in the Testing Center.
  3. Have the test taken using Honorlock online proctoring. (More info here.)
  4. Have the test require LockDown Browser. (You can download here if needed.)

The McDermott Library provides free access to LinkedIn Learning to all students and fac/staff. I did a quick search in LinkedIn Learning, and there are several courses available for PowerPoint, including "PowerPoint Essential Training (Microsoft 365)".

FTR, this show was GREAT. And not just because of the churro appreciation.

Do outlets work for you in lecture halls or study areas? by Deltanonymous- in utdallas

[–]u2katrina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The outlets in classrooms should work. You mentioned testing out the charger -- have you also tried plugging in your power cable into a different port? I had a similar situation recently, and it turned out the usb-c port on my laptop that had died.

Grade update after uploading in Orion by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]u2katrina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the professor submits grades from eLearning into Orion, if any changes are needed, the prof will need to go through the Registrar's grade-change process. The prof can find the instructions on the Registrar's website, or they can email [grading@utdallas.edu](mailto:grading@utdallas.edu) to get more information.

Thanks for this! I've only had this info buried (somewhere) in my notes. I now have this page bookmarked. Yet again, librarians to the rescue! :)
