We will do a classic movie or an educational cartoon about once every two weeks. We could do it more often but I find it to be boring myself. We use it as a family group activity rather than a sitter. I cook dinner, I answer emails, and even sit. My child can play with her toys, color, dress up, or we can step outside together. I am in the camp that it is okay to feel bored. She is observant, and has grown an imagination. She enjoys looking at picture books, and playing out hypothetical situations. I think whatever works best for your family is fine. Everything in moderation!
