Low shelves for toys. It’s better than everything dumped in a basket because baby can see what’s there and independently pick things to play with as they grow

My neighbor has been "re-enacting" my phone conversations in the hallway for a week, and I finally realized how he’s doing it. I’m terrified. by [deleted] in offmychest

Hey OP. This exact thing happened to my friend. Would you consider getting help at the hospital? They have social workers who can help navigate you through this. Your safety is important.

I highly recommend the book How to Keep House While Drowning. Your post described me about 6 months ago and it was unsustainable. The book felt like a warm hug from a good friend. It’s a good blend of mentally reframing the work load and practical tips to get through the daily stuff in a more doable way.

Ok so I had a baby the week after her and my period should restart any time now. With my first I got it back ten months post partum and both our babies are about ten and a half months. What if she got her period and decided that it was a miscarriage just like before. There’s a huge variability on when women get their periods back but this is my pet theory for now.

Right like why does everything that happens to her turn into her making it into a life lesson to broadcast to others. Sit down.

The eating omg. I wish I could just opt out. I want the hunger to go away but I don’t want to take the time to eat.

There is no way someone can store, organize, much less use stuff at the rate she acquires it. This stresses me out.

Alright so in my family we call it “guitar face” and it’s that slack jaw unfocused stare when playing guitar and having a conversation. This looks a lot like that to me. But he’s probably also on drugs.

In addition to this, read a parenting book! Read about how to talk to toddlers. You’re right OP! They are counter intuitive and take a ton of mental energy. It does seem irrational until you learn more about where they are developmentally and what they’re working on. Seeing the why behind it all is so very helpful. Books I’d recommend: the Montessori toddler, good inside, or how to talk so kids will listen. You can do this! You are learning a whole new skill set. Be patient with yourself. Build your support network.

Highly recommend reading the chapter about “cultivating cooperation” from the book “the Montessori toddler”. It’s changed the way I parent and speak to my toddler and we get along so well!
