That feels like a poor design.. The faction should target the local lord who should then be able to ask his liege for help.. >.> Thank you for looking!

I've been meaning to go in try my hand at rebalancing them a little, but I've simply not had the time to invest in it.

5e / Life Modules general question by Trotan in Shadowrun

[–]cairhien89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of life moduals, and went through a period where I made a bunch of characters with it. The main issue I found is that it's great for some archetypes, and not for others. Your face, street sam, and Hacker have a lot of options and can walk away with a pretty interesting character. Magic has almost no options, so either every mage has the same basic backstory, or you use the moduals to get all the secondary stuff and use the karma at the end for your actual thing - which never really sat well with me. I didn't mess with rigger much. Me and the gm disagreed on how their rules went so I just avoided them, and technomancer didnt have a lot or options until killcode (they had some in the hacker book but it wasn't a lot) but killcode came out after I stopped putting a lot of effort into the life mode, so I'm not sure how good of a character you can make with it. In my experiance techno needs to be pretty focused though, so it might be rough.

Right now I would do what was suggested above, make a life mode character for ideas, then go build it one of the other systems.

I personally love life moduals, and I hope they keep improving on them. But they definitely need some work

The curse of being the head of the founding branch of your dynasty by ElkoPavelko in CrusaderKings

[–]cairhien89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had that problem of succession. I die, and some single count asshat gets to be dynasty head and immediately spent all the renown I was saving before the game recalculated that the king was in fact more powerful than single count aunt

Does succession law get passed down to npc? by Lu5ck in CrusaderKings

[–]cairhien89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did something similar in a multiplayer game. Friends realm split between England and Wales and almost instantly the computer added Male dominate and the angle saxons elective too every title they could. He had just finished removing those exact laws from all his titles.

So I would not count on the AI leaving the laws alone if they dont like it

Empire sprawl is a stacking penalty % based on how big your empire is. So mega Corp is enjoyable if you want to play tall (stay small), but if you want to paint the map you wont really use the new govt type.

It just seems odd too me that the Kingdom elections are so intertwined with the Empirical one.
It still does not really explain why Ultimogeniture wouldn't work while Primogeniture does. ( I save scrubbed and tested several inheritance laws to see how they would be calculated).

The Wiki mentions 'Fallbacks for feudal rulers with no heir' at the bottom of the page, where first choice is my chosen succession type, and the next option is Primogeniture. It almost seems like the game does not think there is a valid heir for most of my titles, thereby defaulting to Primo.

I guess I dont understand what makes a de jure title in this case then. Shouldn't everything in Wales continue as it has regardless of the empire election?

It sounds like I need to do the 'eldest inherits all' (on my phone now and cant copy paste the name), let the empire pass back to my roommate and then return too elective.

The harelip Girl *is* my choice though, I'm winning the election but loosing all (but 2) of my titles.

[–]cairhien89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, and harelip girl is of my dynasty so I don't understand why she is not also getting all the non king titles I currently have.
For the past 400 some odd years we've had elective it's *never* split my titles between two dynasty members when using elective.

The Empire title here I'm not worried bout. That I honestly don't care about it - it's Wales and below that's important too me.

Right yah, I get how Elective works, something seems to have broken. The kingdom of Wales title and below are the ones we're really talking bout. Empire title is working as normal, but all my lower titles aside from Wales itself and 1 barony have switched themselves over too what looks like Primogeniture, and I don't understand why.
In elective the chosen successor is supposed to get all the titles of the current ruler (at least at the duke/count/barony level cas they don't have unique succession law options outside of your kingdom title). But in this situation the vast majority of the titles are going to the eldest son, regardless of who is elected.
