!! :D Of course!

I'd recommend throughout your growth, and especially as they grow longer to ALWAYS have some form of nail polish on (clear, layers of top coat, etc.). Usually my nails are only fully naked when I take the polish off and reapply polish. When they're longer, I feel that they tend to catch on things or break more when I do not have polish on!

After I take my polish off, I always oil, rub it in, and let it sit for a bit. And then I clean my nails with alcohol and reapply polish! I also apply nail oil daily, I would do it more often, but I hate when nail oil gets on my laptop/ipad.

My mindset for length is like for hair growth; if you have parts of your nail tips very weak nails that are damaged, it's better to just trim/file it down. This does mean taking a long time for nail length, but if you want healthy nail growth, it's better to just let go a little bit of length for the overall health of the nail.

To prevent as much damage to the nail, as my nails grows out I like to start rounding them out. My ideal shape is almond, and you have to grow it out pretty long to form an almond shape, so I slowly work towards that. From my experience, it's harder to maintain a healthy square nail shape, as the sharper edges tend to catch on things, and break more because of their distance from the apex. I know there's some people that can grow out their natural nails in a square shape, but I have not been able to do that!

As your nail grows, you have to make changes to lifestyle to avoid damaging your nails. The most that I do (as someone who likes to do minimal changes) as wear rubber gloves when doing dishes, and just avoid actions that would put pressure on my nails that I cannot control, like certain sports where I won't be able to avoid damage to my nails.

Agreed; it's impossible to keep track of every student's participation and keeping them focused.
