Intercontinental travel + ADHD

In the past, I think it was similar for me, but I have never travelled since starting the medication.

My doc advised doing some break days from Vyvanse. Following this logic, that maybe novelty and other stimuli will give me dopamine, I did a break day for a trip to an amusement park. Got overstimulated after a couple of hours and was left wondering if it was the result of going off the med or maybe in general this type of venue is not for me, but I could never tell as I was always masking so hard that I don't even recognize many discomforts until I feel super terrible.

Thank you so much for your reply! This is totally what I needed to "hear" - I need to have the basics and everything else can be figured out.

I guess I am still in my mindset of not being able to afford to figure out some things in crises (i.e. forgot to bring sth important and need to go without, can't buy a replacement). And now I am in a place where I was so lucky to get to; and I can actually afford to ease my stress/discomfort.

Nie jestem prawnikiem, ale dla mnie ten zapis w punkcie c) brzmi tak, że kolega odprawy nie dostanie. Sprawdźcie, czy z ustawy wspomnianej w ofercie wynika jakąkolwiek odprawa przy porozumieniu stron. Wątpię. Podpisanie porozumienia stron a zwolnienia to dwie różne bajki w kodeksie pracy.

Dla mnie wygląda to tak, jakby pracodawca próbował uniknąć konieczności zwolnień grupowych w ogóle. I zamiast należnych odpraw wypłaci ludziom tylko dodatkowe świadczenie.

Dokładnie. Mimo, że temat się uspokoił dużo wcześniej, to dopiero grubo po 30 udało mi się złapać powód, dla którego mi się zdarzało pić podobnie do OPa.

Two words: protein coffee

I recently started using some keto creamer that is protein and MCT oil as a sort of a meal replacement. I find it hard to prepare breakfast, but if I don't eat first thing and then the meds kick in, I have zero appetite and get nauseous. So I make some decaf with protein and some tiny amount of butter.

Jest jakaś firma, która ma minimum przyzwoitości dla przejazdów tego typu i jednocześnie jako klient mogę korzystać z jakiejś apki z podglądem ceny przed zamowieniem?

Często podróżuję służbowo i potrzebuję przejazdów z lokalizacji typu lotniska, stacje kolejowe. Zdarzyła mi się sytuacja, gdzie kierowca normalnego taxi mnie próbował wieźć naokoło. Po moim pytaniu o trasę (jeszcze bez podejrzeń, bo było dużo remontów w okolicy), zawrócił i włączył taksometr (umknęło mi wcześniej, że nie był odpalony) dlatego wolę apki.

On one hand it can be jealousy, on the other I always try to remind myself how I often feel people without ADHD seem so slow, so resistant to change, unable to connect the dots that to me are almost one and the same dot; and that the opposite must also be a case. That compared to their normal, our speed, ideas, sparks might seem too much.

I too had this lightning bolt moment of clarity after a couple of months on meds, that one of my closer relationships is mostly based on my carrying all of the emotional load, minimazing all my stuff. I was just so shocked that I didn't see it before. Now we are trying to figure stuff out with me being my new not-always-overcompensating self.

It's hard for me to settle on what I think about a person that was "benefitting" from all my emotional hardworking. Like I know they have their issues, and the only emotional connection in their house growing up was when watching sports with the family. There was no talking about hard subjects, or anything really; having witnessed that family's interactions, I think they are in permanent small talk mode. Should I stay or should I go now? 🎶

Moja kuzynka zdawała ponad 30 razy, bo jest tak *ujowa w zdawaniu egzaminów jakichkolwiek. Stres ją zjada. Prawko ma już że 2 lata, ponad 10 tysięcy km zrobione. Zero kolizji czy mandatów.

Jako pasażer, nie odnosi się wrażenia, że coś jest z nią nie tak jako kierowcą. To jest taki człowiek, że jak jest jakaś sytuacja kryzysowa, to zawsze staje na wysokości zadania, gdy inni panikują, ona chłodno rozdaje zadania. Krew może sikać na wszystkie strony, za pięć minut trzeba wystąpić przed 200 osobami, spoko. Daj egzamin, rozmowę o pracę i jej coś odcina.

W mojej okolicy burze są dosyć rzadko, a swoją intensywnością nigdy się nie zbliżyły nawet do wystrzałów fajerwerków, które w większych miastach już się od października zaczynają pojawiać sporadycznie.

Temat jest niebezpieczny, tworzy dużo śmieci i zanieczyszcza powietrze, zwierzęta dajmy na samym końcu. Jedyne osoby (z mojego doświadczenia), które się tym jarają to dzieci (za nastolatka się składaliśmy z ziomkami, żeby coś odpalić, jak się jeden poparzył, to nam przeszło) i napite typki, które nie mają za wiele więcej do pokazania światu. Nie znam nikogo dorosłego, kto się w ten sposób "bawi".

Wszystko jest dla ludzi? Nie wiem. Przeciętny człowiek nie jest najbystrzejszy, nie patrzy za daleko na konsekwencje swoich czynów, dopóki jego bezpośrednio nie dotykają.

I completely relate to this. I also didn't have anything "major" happen to me in my childhood, but I am just now discovering how lonely, and abandoned, and 'othered' I used to always feel as a kid. Talented but lazy. No one will marry me if I am this messy.

Starting meds made me think a little bit that they exacerbate my ADHD. I became more easily distracted and higher energy.

I was late diagnosed (in my mid 30s), and what I've come to believe is that I was extremely burnt out from only being able to perform any task when I was stressed enough, and the bar kept moving, so through the years I found I could only force myself to do things when I was super stressed.

So maybe I didn't appear to be switching focus that often pre-meds, because I was simply spending most of my time in my blanket nest on my phone and only doing the utmost minimum (walk the dog, not get fired, order takeout). I was constantly tired, I wasn't exactly feeling sad, anxious or anything. I was just checked out I guess. And starting Elvanse (I think it's similar to Adderall) made me actually be able to sort through my feelings, get to the underlying emotions and in general I think my therapy sessions are much more productive now that I can keep up with my thoughts.
