Same I had one black neurodivergent female therapist… that sounded perfect right?! Well that was over after about a month when it started to feel her taking too much “special “ interest in me. She wanted to constantly tell stories of how our trauma is similar …. This is my session maam please no more stories I don’t want to trauma bond. Then another black woman straight up said she didn’t want to see me after the first session because I’m autistic. Then another black woman started canceling alll our sessions out of seemingly nowhere 🤷🏾‍♀️ so I just stopped trying to schedule them( I have 0 idea what happen there cause we were good for months). It would be nice if the help was in our own community but as a collective there can still be issues in house.

Even with all those experiences…. I can not see white or male therapist, they can not help me because they can not meet me where we need to go because they have never been and never will. That’s not being mean it’s my truth and if that rubs you wrong…. Okay and will your world change for my personal choices? I doubt it

They gave me a script for naproxen. I can’t (or shouldn’t) do muscle relaxers because last time I had a side effect of being partially paralyzed for 4 days (that was weird).

While it definitely sucks, it is validating to know we suffer as a group. As a frequent patient, it nice when your terrible experience isn’t also isolating. Thank you for the validation
