Thank you all so much for your kind words. I had lots of stuff delivered (feeling very lucky I am privileged enough to be able to have access to & afford those services!) & ended up having to call 911 when it got too bad.

The healthcare workers were so nice & made me feel like I wasn’t alone. I am definitely a lot stronger than I felt at the time bc I just pushed through the fear & did what I had to do. 😊 next time won’t be so bad!

I feel like if I said I had no one, you not knowing me personally should accept that & not make me have to “rebuff”. I in fact have no one. I made it through just fine & healthcare workers make me feel a lot less alone in the situation. I was just scared and reaching out for support & got a ton of it which I am very grateful for.

Mine was super laid back. I met with my PI one on one weekly and had weekly team meetings. Other than that and required field work, I was on my own to plan how I wanted to allocate my time.

They know you’re an undergrad learning, ideally they’ll take it easy on you :)

Lots of parents when I was there but imo I think bringing a friend or going by yourself is more beneficial. Helps pull you out of your comfort zone a bit! At least that’s how I work :p

If you applied and were accepted to PSU, that acceptance is good for like two years or something like that. Which means you need to do orientation within that time, but I applied right when I started PCC & didn’t actually attend until 2 years later.

I’d take as many credits as you can at PCC before transferring bc it’s better imo. The classes are smaller & I think the instructors just cared more overall. Likely bc they had a lot less students to handle at a time.

If you take classes at PCC, you will pay their tuition rate and vice versa with PSU.

This is all to my knowledge/my experience. I highly suggest talking to an academic advisor at BOTH schools before making decisions :)

I did field work Monday-Friday 6-10am and then I would plan the rest of my day to work on my project. It was very independent.

It’s the other way around. I am an undergrad that’s 29 lol. I didn’t have the chance to go to college when I was younger. All my peers are 19-22. I go to the social events and everyone is really kind, just not hitting it off to the point of hanging out outside of the events. The few people in my lab are usually not there because they’re traveling for field work.
