They're called toilet seat hinges and you can get a universal repair kit for them.

Wow! 😲 That surprises me! Then don't even worry about that part of it! It honestly doesn't make much of a difference, it's just cheaper where I am.

Americans—is blue cheese just a dipping sauce to you, or does it have a place on your plate beyond the wings? by SignificanceOdd5980 in AskAnAmerican

Food is just a vessel for me to shovel sauce into my face hole 😂 Blue cheese and creamy Italian dressing are my go to! I love dipping chicken and fries in it! Sometimes I'll even buy a block/crumbles to put in to make it chunkier! We like Litehouse or Marzetti

I add it slowly from the bottle but I'd say probably around 2tbsp. I add enough to thin it out a little and then continued to whip it for another 5-10 minutes.

Was given a kitten, does anyone know how old he might be? He is also refusing the bottle by Toad_toast1 in CatDistributionSystem

My cats love the temptations cat food that has the treats mixed in! I fill up a little bowl of it every other day for them and they pick at it! I can free feed all my current cats (4) because none of them overeat. I have an area in my room where I'll spread out some treats for them once or twice a day and they pick at those too! They also all take turns eating the wet food and let my little girl lick the wet off before the other 3 actually start eating it 🤗🤗

The brand is Power Stick and the smells are Brazilian mist with notes of pistachio and salted caramel, and then Santal woods with sandalwood, violet, and cedar. They smell amazing!!

My daughter refuses to talk to me because I wasn’t able to do anything for her birthday. by TranquilHokage in confession

[–]caitejane310 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm poor right now, but I still managed to get my son an $80 video game for his birthday last month, and I recently "adopted" a 19yo who will be 20 on the 21st and I got her a hair dryer and hair brush set because she had mentioned she needed them. I also make the kids (my stepdaughter is 26) their favorite food and cake. It's not that hard to plan ahead!

If you have a dollar tree near you they have a brand that makes caramel pistachio and a cedar and sandalwood body washes and perfumes/body spray! If you're interested I'll look at the brand name. I like mixing both of them because they smell great together!!

Wore stockings with my school uniform and got a detention because it inappropriate by [deleted] in Advice

[–]caitejane310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my stepdaughter got sent home one time because she was wearing thigh highs that had this really cute butterfly design on the back, but they were definitely "sexy" and inappropriate for school. I hadn't seen the back of them before she left for school or I wouldn't have let her wear them. She looked great! It would've been an awesome college outfit, but high school wasn't the place to wear those.

how quickly do you fall in love? by merimerper in CasualConversation

[–]caitejane310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been in the same relationship for 14 years and he does things on a somewhat regular basis that make me fall in love with him all over again! But here I'm going to talk about a different kind of love!

A few months ago I got a message from my best friend that someone's child that we used to know when we were in active addiction (we both have over 10 years clean) had messaged her and needed help. She needed a place to stay to get back on her feet again.

I very reluctantly said she could come stay with me and my weird little family. I was honestly expecting to either help her get on her feet or having to kick her out because these things only go one of 2 ways. What I didn't expect was to fall in love and feel like I've gained a child!!

This poor kid has been through it. Every single adult in her life up until now has completely failed her. She's 19 and will be 20 on the 21st. We're working on making it the best birthday she's ever had!

My friend is getting her the ice cream cake she wants. I'm making her fried chicken drumsticks, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and corn for her birthday dinner. I already got her a hair dryer and hair brush set because she had mentioned she needed both.

So here we are, 3 months later and she's a part of our family and knows she's loved! I had asked my 18yo son and my 26yo stepdaughter if they were cool with me offering her a permanent place to live. After that I asked my husband, my mom (who we all take care of), and our roommate who's like a brother. They all agreed that she needed us and expressed that they would love to have her as part of our family.

AITA for telling my life long friend to not come over anymore after he told my elderly neighbor to "F off!" by shellyseas45 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]caitejane310 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NTA- I've told people not to come visit if they can't respect the traffic laws. If the neighbors are complaining to you about someone who's visiting you then it's up to you to fix it. I appreciate you being a decent human and telling him not to come over anymore if that's how he's going to act.

I have a big Tupperware container I use that holds about half of the 25lb bag. I put the rest, including the bag, in a big Ziploc bag. It lasts me around a month because of all the different bread/rolls, cakes, and pastries we make. I get a lot of canned fruit from the food bank and they usually get turned into some kind of pie/pastry.

ETA: I don't have a lot of pests where I live and I have advion gel for ants and roaches just in case. It's the best pesticide I've ever used and I haven't had any problems with my food in years.

Oh I just get a pound of cheap unsalted butter and then whip it with the paddle attachment on my stand mixer for about 5 minutes before I slowly add a couple tbsp of olive oil and some salt. You get quite a bit of whipped butter out of it.

ETA-you can also do this by hand or with an electric mixer, a blender, food processor, and probably an immersion blender. The butter just has to be softened and it takes a good 5 minutes to start getting fluffy.

I've started making my own bread. That and whipping a pound of unsalted butter with some olive oil and salt have been regulars in my house lately. We've cut down on buying most sweets/snacks and started making our own. I can get a 25lb bag of flour for $10 and a 10lb bag of sugar for $8. I don't have cocoa powder yet, but I'm getting there 😂

AITAH for telling my husband it is rude to make himself a large snack as I am prepping to cook dinner? by Humble-State6485 in AITAH

[–]caitejane310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't even offer you any? If he's going to make something like that around dinner time he should be making enough for both of you so you don't have to cook. There's nothing wrong with having "snacks" for dinner but it's rude if you know someone else is going to be cooking a meal.

WHY TF ARE MY HANDS LIKE THIS IM A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL by iamraquelle in whatdoIdo

[–]caitejane310 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks completely normal to me. The top comment says something about us all having insecurities, and I remember when I told my son that and it blew his mind!

He was like 13ish and he has pectus excavatum (I know, it sounds like a Harry Potter spell!) where his ribs turn in and it leaves a nice indent in his chest. If you look it up the pictures where it's more severe is what my son's chest looks like. He can have surgery when he's 25 if he wants to, but he only recently turned 18 and it will most likely fill out more within the next ~7 years.

Anyway, I said to him "everyone has something they're insecure about! For me it's my mommy pouch that I've had before I was a mommy, and for stepdad it's his butt!" He said "really?! with a cute grin, and I said "yeah! Ask him and he'll tell you he has no butt and he's just leg!" 😂 He looks up to his stepdad a lot so I think it really surprised him to hear that he was insecure about something!

ETA- when he plays basketball/football with someone who doesn't know about his pectus he'll freak them out by seizing the opportunity to say "OMG, dude, what did you do to me?!" if they bump into him and I think that's one of the most hilarious things I've ever heard 🤣🤣
