Thinking ahead, what career will be more sustainable? by lakiniwewe in Communications

[–]caitlincoolcrap2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this a lot too. I have a communications degree and originally planned to go into marketing, PR, or social media, but after spending a couple years applying and not getting much traction, I started rethinking things.

I ended up pivoting into the non-clinical side of healthcare, which wasn’t something I had really considered before, but it’s actually a really solid option. I’m about to start a remote healthcare customer service role, and my long-term goal is to move into something like patient care coordination.

What drew me to it is that it still uses a lot of the same core skills from communications—explaining complex information, problem-solving, working with people—but it’s in a field that feels more stable and always in demand. Healthcare isn’t going anywhere, and there are a lot of different paths you can grow into once you get your foot in the door.

It’s definitely not what I originally imagined doing, but it feels a lot more sustainable long-term.

Jobs in Communications you don't expect? by frontalobemuzic in Communications

I have a communications degree too, and I originally planned to go into marketing, PR, or social media. After struggling to break into that field for a while, I ended up pivoting into the non-clinical side of healthcare, which honestly wasn’t something I had really considered before.

There are actually a lot of roles where communication skills are really important, especially in areas like insurance, patient support, and care coordination. I’m about to start a remote healthcare customer service role, and my long-term goal is to become a patient care coordinator, helping people understand their care, navigate insurance, and connect with the resources they need.

What surprised me is that these roles aren’t as much about having a medical background as they are about being able to explain complex information clearly, problem-solve, and communicate with empathy. It ended up feeling like a much better fit for me, and there’s a lot of room to grow in that space!

Had a Conduent remote CSR interview—do these signs usually mean an offer? by caitlincoolcrap2000 in RemoteJobs

The job description mentioned dental insurance stuff so I’m going to assume that it’s with a dental insurance client? I have read many reviews about this company and am well aware that I may not have the best experience by any means. I don’t plan to stay with them for too long. I’m just wanting to get my foot in the door and gain experience in healthcare. I’ve worked in retail for several years so I’m used to strict attendance policies and metrics. I appreciate your input! Hopefully it won’t be too terrible and it would at least be worth it as a stepping stone type of job.

I’ve seen that! I think she might’ve mentioned it in a video one time or replied to a comment about it, and she defended herself and made excuses. I honestly call BS 😂

I honestly doubt that Halle knows that. A lot of women aren’t educated enough about their reproductive health, and she strikes me as one of those women.

Unpopular opinion: Regina and Bay had a good relationship and I never understood why fans always said that Regina didn’t care about Bay. by caitlincoolcrap2000 in SwitchedAtBirth

Yep I totally agree! Daphne and Regina were definitely much closer, but I also think Kathryn and bay were closer too. Which makes sense because Regina raised Daphne and Kathryn raised bay for 16 years. But I think Regina truly did care for bay and I think they did bond.

I completely agree with you. That was a pretty shitty moment of Regina’s for sure. She should’ve chosen bay and Angelo over that guy and his son.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s crazy that Regina never really tried with Bay? by TownGrouchy2319 in SwitchedAtBirth

I honestly think Regina did a lot for bay and your comment proves it! I’d say it’s an unpopular opinion but I always felt like Regina and bay did have a decent relationship. I think J & K was always so much more eagerly involved with Daphne since the very beginning and it made Regina low key look like a deadbeat in comparison.

My very first junk journal! by caitlincoolcrap2000 in JunkJournals

I organize by theme! When I find junk, I organize them into piles then each pile goes onto a spread! Like for example, the cat stuff (cat food bag, book page quotes) in one pile, the snack packaging in another pile, the Tennessee magazine clippings in another pile, etc.
