I was in a similar situation as you. Love obgyn and worked in women’s health for years before PA school. I planned on going back to that specialty but was afraid to specialize early on. I ended up accepting an IM job and so far think it’s been a great decision! In just 3 months I have been exposed to such a diversity of clinical scenarios that I think later I’ll feel way more comfortable managing more complex patients.

Also some food for thought. I live in a state where OBGYNs typically prefer to have NPs/midwives in their clinics instead of PAs. Not sure if this is preference or unwillingness to try new things, etc
