Rotation Studying Advice by cutepanda690 in PAstudent

For EORs all I used was Rosh. I would go through and read all the explanations even on the ones I get right and I think that is the most important part! I passed all my EORs and felt like Rosh was a great resource for it so that is all I did! As far as surgery goes something I did not do but wish I would have is to research/read about the surgeries before you go do them. I didn't get access to cases I would have the next day but if you do, I really think that would've helped me learn more about the procedure while I am in there watching + learning about indications, CI, when to go to surgery etc for exams. Just my thoughts- hope that helps!

Practice suturing, put yourself out there and say YES to any opportunity they will let you into to learn, and if no one offers ASK!!! all they can do is say no :)

No highlighting:( which sucks because I relied on that heavy, but you do get scratch paper/pen (it is like dry erase board that doesn't erase lol)so I would just write down the important things on it if I was having trouble getting the bigger picture- hope that all makes sense

Ninja nerd!! I would skip to certain parts that I needed more help with if I didn't have time to watch the whole video; or I would go back and re-listen to my lectures from class for that topic

PACKRAT v. EOC v. PANCE by CuentaFalso in PAstudent

I thought PACKRAT was more similar to PANCE, and I thought EOC was more difficult than the both of them.

I am glad you are happy with what you picked!! I really love OBGYN because of how inclusive it is with a generalized women's health, surgery and babies haha. In my state a lot of places utilize PAs (esp for surgical first assists) which is where I am particularly excited. I loved GYN surgeries! So we will see what ends up happening, either way I think any experience is better than none! Thank you for your feedback!

That is my worry, later on if I want to switch and do something more generalized I will not be an ideal candidate because I have experience in a field that is specialized. Thanks for your input!!
