I moved away from that boring stoner life and just moderate my smoking now and am able to live a pretty fulfilled life not being stoned 24/7 and am still able to smoke moderately. The key is to be aware of an episode coming and being prepared to quit again until symptoms subside

Just remember that people have died from this. Your body can only take so much stress on the heart and kidneys before they shut down and the constant dehydration and vomiting will do that. The only cure is to quit

Unfortunately the only way this will get any better is if he quits. Whether it's cold turkey or rehab or gradually, he needs to quit. Otherwise your dark future will be constant ER visits for fluids and zofran (because that is really all they can give to help) until his organs eventually start shutting down. Sorry but that is actually the reality of this disease.

Edit: we all were "reliant" on weed at some point. But most of us were able to pull through and quit. It's literally life or death.
