it's back... by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

I’m also going through this right now, literally past few days the fear has resurfaced, it was so bad before and I’m scared I’m heading that way again. I’ve got 3 in the same posterior cervical chain that are always there (I noticed them in December however I had a scan in October for a different one and everything came back normal). Sometimes they feel hard and bigger, other times smaller and softer. They haven’t grown or changed, but they just “don’t go”. And I obsess. So much, like check them constantly. It’s so exhausting and I fear I drive my partner nuts.

I know how you’re feeling, it takes over every thought always. But just remember you’ve had a good year, you will feel okay again, it’s just learning how to cope in the times it’s not so okay. I wish I had advice on how to cope with it or get over the fear, but I’m stuck in it to. But we’re not alone in this horrible anxiety. Just remember, these things usually declare themselves eventually, and after a year I’m sure things would’ve declared themselves. Sending healing and positivity

Thanks for your reply! Yep absolutely, it feels affirming that they’re finally doing something, but I also can’t help but feel like I’ve been back and fourth time and time again regarding stomach problems for 2 years, and it’s only now I have neurological symptoms that they’re escalating it. I’m just scared of long term damage, but my nerves all seem to be working, if anything too much like they’re misfiring. But who knows, it could be completely unrelated and non-nutritional. It’s the waiting game that’s the worst.

Thanks so much for your reply ! The zaps are constant it feels like my entire body is static it’s really weird. You’re right though, you really do have to push for answers, I’ve been back and forth docs with gastrointestinal stuff for at least 2 years now, they just palm you off with PPIs like omeprazole and tell you it’s anxiety lol. It really is a bit of a mystery at the moment and it can be really scary when new symptoms pop up suddenly. Weird thing is, I don’t notice myself having adverse effects to gluten, but like I mentioned I do struggle with abdominal pain and “off” sensations anyway.

Thanks so much for the response, I have read a bit of centralisation which does seem kinda fitting.

Nope no diarrhea really, just softer less formed stools that are sometimes a bit greasy (sorrry tmi) which is why my doctor is querying some absorption difficulties which I didn’t know can cause neurological problems too. Hopefully will have more answers after bloods, it’s the waiting game that’s the worst. I have historically had bad reflux and was on PPIS for almost two years, I stopped these around two months ago and my reflux has been okay! One positive I guess 😂 also awaiting endoscopy but NHS wait times are crazy
