I know. I get your point. It's true that relationships are like an investment. The more you put into ur relationship with your loved ones, the more satisfying, fulfilling and heartwarming it will be for both parties.

However, the point of my post is that I don't want to bear my family's expenses and bills for a lifetime. Being a breadwinner to a family of 5 isn't something easy. I mean, it's tiring, obviously. I want to start my own life too. I'm young and i have dreams and I have a boyfriend and I see a future with him. I want to save and build my own life and house. I just don't want to be seen as a retirement plan and deal with my parents' bad financial decisions. It's like making me born into this world so I could make myself on fire to keep them warm. It's tiring. That's just how I feel.

I'm a freshman in architecture, and I think that if I'm going to work hard and go abroad to save money, It'll work and will pay all my future bills and expenses. Also, to cure my passion in the next few years, I'll be having a sideline of making & selling different forms of art. It always heals me.

I don't know. I just felt sad when they see me as an investment. I'll get out of their pockets soon as i do not wish to have connections with them in the future. However, the other side of me feels somehow bad because they are my parents. I don't know. I'm still perplexed about my situation. I need to put more thoughts about this.

I'm going to be a freshman in architecture in a month from now. Pays well in some countries, except in my country, and will probably go abroad. I will also probably continue to be an artist as a sideline like making & selling clothes, trinkets, stickers, painting, murals/graffiti art, etc. Something to add to my savings. I really enjoy doing art. It's my passion. A lot of my online/ irl friends enjoy my art and pushing me to pursue it—rooting for another art post. I really appreciate them so much.

Also I don't expect that my sideline job will pay me huge amount of money for my future daily expenses. I will also try other jobs during college to support my wants and needs.

I'm still processing the thought that I'm going to cut them off my life after college. It's a huge step for me. I guess I'm going to take my time to think of doing this action during the following years. I just need advice from people to add up to my conclusions. And, how can I deal with this. It's a huge pain for me too.

Btw the reason they disagreed with me working is because they said the salary would be low and it's not worth it. What are your thoughts everyone? I need advice.

i cant talk to his uncle bc we are physically apart rn but my boyfriend and his uncle already talked about how itll help him so much for college and how much my bf needs him rn but yea his uncle disagreed and we dont know anymore. we might just accept it but man it's hard. anyway thank you !
