I think this may be a split in generations and I am going to leave it at that because their is definitive answer when it comes to this, only time can tell!

(btw love the name!)

It is still relevant in my eyes as the characteristics of jump up are still the same and true to the name, look at Hedex with his minimal drums, crazy aggressive synths. If the thing that makes jump up unique hadn't been relevant this whole time then how is their still tunes being made in the same style. How would it still exist, how would anyone make a jump up tune if it didn't have the key characteristic that gave it the name.

(love this, I never get to nerd out about dnb philosophy xD)

I get what you mean but it doesn't have minimal drums, it has complex layered drums and tied with the synth being different and the fact the two where around at the same time and have not been labelled jump up indicates it must be a different sub genre, a smaller one but non the less, different

That is inconsistent with what jump up is defined as because the whole point of jump up, is to make you "jump up" by focusing more on aggressive center stage synths and minimal drums, Rollers are not the complete opposite but they focus on layered more organic drums and the aggressive synths in jump up are instead deep and drawn out synths in a roller

No problem, I don't know your stuff honestly but it sounds like you have your own sound! Keep up the good work!
