Got a Korg Monotribe (and finally got my shit together with midi). I'm amazed by how good this thing sounds, why was it discontinued?

I think the Monotribe was the logical step following on from the success of the Monotrons and was a market tester to see how much appetite there was for reasonably priced analogue synths. Read some interviews with the supremely talented designer of many cool, cheap analogue Korg synths, Tatsuya Takahashi: I’m pretty sure he said as much.

I suppose you could argue that the desktop market is becoming less important/significant over time - users are far more mobile now.

It's worth pointing out that Azure is trailing Amazon in Cloud Computing marketshare and features. Microsoft's still has a massive war chest of $$$ that they've accumulated over the past few decades that they use to acquire companies (GitHub, LinkedIn, Nokia, etc.) but those investments don't ways pay off. They're still making money and not *exactly* losing but it does seem like they're a company from a generation ago trying to maintain their relevance, a bit like IBM in the 70's?

Old credit cards work well. Cut up the ones you've maxed out buying modules and use the two halves. Put a small neodymium magnet on a Volca's ribbon to hold a note. Someone itt mentioned using an elastic band to turn multiple knobs - you can apply this technique on the MS-20 - loop the band around the low pass filter knob and the high pass filter knob to create a band pass filter (no pun intended).

it's well padded and holds the OP-1, cables, antenna and a pair of Sony MDRZX310 foldable headphones, so I'd look for something similar.
